Senators,I have half a year to stay in office and I believe it won't be enough to take Croton...I must unfortunately go to the north and repel an Etruscan invasion. Well,Croton will have to wait the next Consul to be captured...

"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."

Here noble Censor; The savegame for you to inspect.
ooc:I had trade rights from Illyrians accepted and they have evacuated the peninsula.
ooc2:I still have not moved against the Etruscans.I might leave that to the next Consul too so that he has some military action and some personal glory with successful battles...

Regvlvs, I congratulate you for leading the Republic to victory in the Pyrrhic Wars. I could never have done what you did; you slayed Pyrrhus, captured Tarentum, crushed Epirote armies everywhere you went, and still took minimum casualties. If it was I who was the Senior Consul, I can guarantee we would've lost many men and Pyrrhus would probably still be alive.
I just hope that one day I can accomplish all that you've done. You are a true hero of the Republic.
