    Default Corruption

Hi everyone, first post on these forums, they seem to be the best out there right now .

Anyway I was wondering if somebody could explain corruption to me. I have seen it in most of my settlement detail scrolls, playing as Egypt. The reason I ask is because corruption sometimes costs me over 500 gold per turn in a single settlement. Is there any way to get rid of it? Nothing I've tried seems to have worked, then again I haven't tried very much. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

One thing I can tell you is that the people in Genoa are real tughs, almost all my merchants from there got some stupid trait with corruptive behavior/they can't keep their hands of other peoples money, and the corruption in that city generated more money than it costed. There must be some kind of link between that.

I think Milan is outstanding when it comes to generating money from corruption, haven't yet seen another faction beeng so full with florins in their bellies.

if you want to get rid of corruption. im pretty sure that moving in a high chivalry general or increaseing the garrison/public order gets rid of it. i may be wrong but i have all Chivalry gens in my cities and about 0 corruption.

Yea luckily I busted my general from Genoa so the money can keep rollin' in.
I think it was decreasing when he was there...

I was very sure of that it was generating money for me in the setttlements. I might have seen wrongly since I no longer generate corruption income just expenture in all my settlements, but the money have to come from somewhere.

No...and as I said it seems to be coming out of nowhere right now, in my imagination it was generating income in the settlement detail scroll before. :hmmm:

the kings purse is the amount of money your king uses from his personal tresury. i bielive its anywhere from 1000-3000 florins a turn. it mostly gives your faction a buffer of money to expand with in the begining. its free money you get every turn basiclly. (im not really good at this game but i have played alot) (:

Hey, if you are sitting there explaining to me what the hell the "Kings Purse" means (a mystery to me this whole time) you can't be all that bad.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, i tried moving a good general into the city and it helped....but in another case it RAISED the expenditure on corruption....

    Very strange . . . .

One thing I have found is that moving a large army without a leader tends to generate corruption costs, as well as cities with large incomes from farms/mines and the like...

So what is corruption? The world may never know.....

I think you need stuff that adds law bonus to combat corruption.

    Zeno of Citum:
Merchants can get bad traits if you don't build the basic town hall building. Then they can end up with the Shady dealer trait. Same goes for regions with over 80% own religion, those regions create "religious" merchants and also gives a negative finance.

At that time when I got all those merchants I almost didn't have any town halls, so it makes sense.

Well even at the rank of Paladin I still couldn't tell you what the King Purse is exactly.
