Political Campaign Thread!

Salve wanna-be leaders of the Republic!
In this thread you will find your place to scream your lungs out,claiming you are the best of the candidates!I would really like to see the campaigns having an effect on who the voters will go for but I know I am asking too much...

HOUSE RULES:

a)We are not continuing from the last AAR;This is a totally new one.That means that your achievements or your lack of office mean nothing;Do not post claiming that you have conquered cities for the sake of the Republic,you have written down laws etc.We start anew and that means that we have no leading edge over other senators.

b)No political mudpit;This is only for these elections as if anyone claims that an other senator is unworthy of an office,it would be based on previous events.We have started the AAR from scratch.

c)If you want you may post a supporting campaign post for the candidate you wish to see elected!

d)ONE post per candidate;If you wish to answer or add something,add it;don't post a new answer!Thats all I've got...

Senators of the Republic;
I am Quintus Cornelius Regulus,a son to the Gens Cornelia;I stand in front of you today,asking to give me the chance to lead the Republic from the sacred office of Consul.
I will strife in my term,if I am elected as Senior Consul to lead Rome steadily to glory and victory;
Our enemies shall tremble and their cities will fall if you command me so;
Our citizens shall prosper and the trade between Rome and foreign lands shall flourish if you have it so;
Law and Justice will be the leaders of our glorious nation!

Citizens of Rome,

I am Marcvs Valerivs Corvinvs, Patricivs and Senator of our Great Republic. I am running for the office of Junior Consul, and I am asking for your vote in the upcoming elections.

If I am elected as the Junior Consul of the Res Publica, I promise to obey the law, the constitution, and the will of the Senate and People of Rome. I will only assign uncorruptible and worthy Senators to the offices of Princeps Senatus and Censor. The streets of the Eternal City will be clean of all waste, and they will gleam under the sun. The hungry will be fed, the homeless will be housed, and our courageous veterans will be given plenty of land as long as I have anything to say about it. The Republic will be known throughout the world for its huge and well-built structures, its kind and intelligent governing body, and it's brave and patriotic people.

Though I am a Patricivs, I will make sure the Plebeians will be treated as equals and represented in the Senatvs. I will definitely veto the actions of my fellow Consul if he seeks to hurt you, the people of the Aventine Hill. Do not worry, I will also stop your brave sons and husbands from being conscripted for useless and trivial wars. Once Pyrrhus is killed, peace and prosperity will reign in Rome for the rest of my term, and hopefully for many years after that too.

In addition to that, I am related to Pvblivs Valerivs Pvblicola, who was a hero and leader of the Republic. He was a friend of the people, and I am a friend of the people. Therefore, our intentions must be the same, and we all know his intentions were beneficial to the Senate and People of Rome.

So please, vote for me, Marcvs Valerivs Corvinvs, for a better Republic!

Vote For me for Junior Consul for i will bring great knowledge of the state of Roma. I will also make sure we have a strong influence on the Legions so they will never rebel against us. I will always serve the Republic.
