Its the DDR.
What the hell did I just see?
If only communism was that easy to implement...
Pet Shop Boys? only them can sound so gay... *runs away in horror*
Expertly crafted pop music specifically spawned for instant gratification.
By the way, has anyone else had an opportunity to listen to the score that they composed for ‘The Battleship Potemkin’? In saying that though, I very much doubt that the Pet Shop Boys have a sizable fan base strewn throughout this forum.
Although then again, how am I to know?

Why is an old Pet Shop Boys video suddenly of such interest?

sounds like the soviet anthem altered :p
I don't think that Stalin would be proud, perhaps because some successful propaganda. I see Stalin as a political beast and not an idealist, he wanted power and strength which in my point in view made him feel secure. On the Other hand Lenin would rejoice he was a pure breed idealist.
Btw, when was this music video made?
''I always made one prayer to God, a very short one: "O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous." God granted it. ''
-Voltaire
1993. The song was also a cover of an American act (of whose name I shall not utter here). LINK.
You could see it with out looking deeper into the song and say it's all about making America into a Communist country. Or you can read the Wiki link, I have provided, and see what it was actually about.
After the fall of the soviet union!
