I don't think that Stalin would be proud, perhaps because some successful propaganda. I see Stalin as a political beast and not an idealist, he wanted power and strength which in my point in view made him feel secure. On the Other hand Lenin would rejoice he was a pure breed idealist.

1993. The song was also a cover of an American act (of whose name I shall not utter here). LINK.
