What I think about this mod.
So I'm playing as the English for the first time on SS 5.0.
I'm playing a late campaign, keep in mind that almost since the beginning of the game I have had a bad economy for some reason and could barely afford troops for most of the time.
At the very beginning of the game Scotland allied with me.
I could not help but notice that after 10 or so turns into the game Scotland has yet to back stab me...
hmm... Odd.
I decide to back stab them first, and I march up into Scotland, defeat a large army of pike men and high landers thanks to my long bows, take Edinburgh, and sack the populace.
Then Ireland sails across the sea and attacks Wales, so I build up an army in London and Nottingham and push them out, I then send my (still rather large) army in Edinburgh north to finish off that last Scottish castle and I get ambushed along the way by the Scottish king and my army is destroyed.
Totally destroyed.
They then re-take Edinburgh, I'm starting to freak out because I am now at war with both Ireland and Scotland and my entire Northern army just got wiped out so theirs no stopping them from marching on York.
But then something happens, Ireland sends me a Princess and asks me not only to cease fire but to marry her to my heir...
Weird...
So me and Ireland are now buddy's and still are some 100 turns later(although they have always had an Army waiting next to my Well defended Welsh Castles).
Scotland, Instead of marching on me or Ireland send me an emissary asking for peace, they retook Edinburgh and thats all that they wanted.
So I'm thinking, This is going to be easy, just re build my northern army and march right back up their, but then I remember about France, they have not made a single move to try to invade me yet.
Not only this, but all of the cities and castles that are near me such as Cean has only 1 unit defending them.
So right as I was preparing a small rampage across the French landscape SPAIN lands and army off a boat and takes Exeter!
SPAIN!
I turn off FOW and I see that the entire time they had been building up to invade me, not the Moors, not Portugal, not Aragon, me, England.
Even after the Moors and Spain were at war, the Spanish kept sending about half their troops up to attack me(and yet somehow they are still beating the Moors)
I have now pushed Spain out of England and currently rampaging across France with the help of the Irish and Germans(Your Allies will help you now! Irish got on a boat and took Angers from France with out me asking them too)
So basically, over all I like the changes done to this mod, its now much more difficult and for the first time since the first mtw the AI has soundly defeated me in a battle (I did not autocalc, I had superior troops and numbers but the actually "Ran" their pike men into my longbows and after they routed my Sergeants it was over) I have had two great allies, all of my factions heirs are being married to Irish Princess's and when I declare war with someone, sure enough sailing right behind my ships you can find the Irish sending what troops they can to help me.
I giggled like a school girl when they landed and took Angers from the French, Angers is quite a way to sail from Ireland, but they did it anyway just to give me a hand.
