Favorite music thats not rock or pop

OK there was some complaining on my thread rock music before the Beatles so I figured Id start one for everything but.

Personally I like the Big Band sound

Agreed - and I'd also add Explosions in the sky and A silver mount zion (similar to Godspeed you black emperor) and Esbjörn Svensson Trio (Jazz), as well as Einstürzende Neubauten and Laibach.

World and classical should be it.

Classical and Jazz. And Armenian music. And blues.

and I also listen to these guys a lot. They're great to sing along with while stuck in traffic.

Ironically enough, I'm listening to organ music right now.

Dark/ambient is my favorite next to Metal.

Nicholas Lens composes the most beautiful music in this age. He is clearly a genius. It is like classical music with beautiful voices. Sometimes his music is like a elven party from the "Summer Nights Dream", sometimes it is disturbing, and sometimes you think, angels came from heaven to sing for you. I don´t have enough words or skill in this language to describe this, you have to listen for yourself.

Yes industrial music is great however there are heaps of subgenres...

Black metal, IDM & Ambient/Dark ambient are also great genres.
