Hi all,
before I'll upload the new patch, I would be very glad if someone could confirm that all sounds are working properly.
Since I have the German M2 version that doesn't include eastern and scottish accents I can't check those sounds myself unfortuntely...
The test would be relatively simple and would just take a few minutes:
FOR THE ENGLISH VERSION
- Download these files
- Extract them into the ".../Medieval II Total War" directory and overwrite existing files.
- Delete the events.dat & events.idx files in Stainless_Steel/data/sounds
- Load up any campaign, then turn off the fog of war and click one character of every different accent one time and see if they speak in the correct accent.
- Load one custom battle with 1. scotland and 2. kievan rus and make a quick test if the units are speaking (i.e "heavy infantry").
- If (almost) everything seems to be fine, pleeease send me the newly created events.idx and events.dat files.
Optional and not so important, but it would be good to know if it also works for people like me that don't have all accents.
FOR A NON-ENGLISH VERSION (that doesn't include eastern and scottish accents, like my german version)
- procede as described above
- after you've extracted the files, you should go into the mods/Stainless_Steel/data folder and delete the descr_sound_accents.txt file and rename "NON-ENGLISH descr_sounds_accents.txt" to descr_sound_accents.txt.
- go into the mods/Stainless_Steel/data/sounds folder and deltet the events.dat & events.idx files and rename NON-ENGLISH events.dat & NON-ENGLISH events.idx to events.dat & events.idx
- test the same thing as described above.
I will be really grateful for everyone who will test with deserved rep!!![]()
