We all like to ***** about remakes, but I was researching.. and nearly EVERYTHING is a remake!
Take the Bourne Identity.. it's a 1988 film I just found out! Good movies all of them but good god!
Or how people complained House of Wax is nowhere as good as the 1953 version.. yet the 1953 is a remake of the 1933 version!
Hell you go back to it, and Star Wars is a remake of The Hidden Fortress, while The Magnificent Seven is a remake of Seven Samurai.
It's not new, and with EVERYTHING being remade (Piranha comes out in 2008.. again) I dunno what to think!

And? The majority of remade films aren't remakes of remakes, they're remakes of orginals. So what's your point?

a lot of the reason they are remade might have to do with the advancement in technology, things can be done now that couldnt be done when they first came out, adding to that all important immersion factor.

You do know there's a difference between "influenced by" and "a remake of" right? Hidden Fortress influenced Lucas a tiny bit...Star Wars isn't a remake of it.Hell you go back to it, and Star Wars is a remake of The Hidden Fortress
