White Room - Cream - You couldn't possibly get any better than this... The bass, the guitar, the percussion, it all combines into a furious musical orgasm. It was from there that I went on to discover the other wonders of their discography.

A Whiter Shade Of Pale - Procol Harum - I was never really a fan of organ music before I discovered Procol Harum. It was probably that instrument and Brooker's voice which hooked me.

Epitaph - King Crimson - To be honest, I didn't like KC at all when I first listened to them. I was still too used to the poppy sounds of The Beatles and The Kinks. But the second time around, I came back to this song and was blown away by the Mellotron and Lake's vocals.

I Looked Away - Derek and the Dominos - After announcing to my dad that I adore Cream, he told me they suck and 'Derek and the Dominos are a far superior band'. He gave me their one and only studio album and as 'I Looked Away' is the first track, it was the first song I heard by them.

Roundabout - Yes - (Much thanks to Lord Rahl for introducing me to them). I thought at first that Anderson (the vocalist) was a twelve-year-old who hadn't hit puberty, his voice was so unusually high compared to what I had listened to. I also couldn't understand what he was saying so I resolved to ignore that and instead revel in the wonderous sounds of Squire's bass and Wakeman's organ solos.

Now do tell me all about your memories!

Aqualung - Jethro Tull I don't think that I could've been introduced to Tull in any better way than with this. Fabulous piece of music both vocal and instrumental wise and a great taste of what yet to come.

Know Your Onion - the Shins Fast paced and for me (who at the time were listening to the some heavier vocals) thorougly refreshing with the light vocals of James Russel.

Posetive Tension - Bloc Party I wanted more, more and more!

Far more.. but now I must continue my essay.

My all time favourite band is Husker Du. It's difficult to say exactly what the first song of theirs I heard was - as my brother essentially introduced them to me when I was 9, but it would have been a track off of New Day Rising. Probably 'I Apologise'.

Queen- Don't stop me now. I don't really have a particular genre I like above all but if I would have to choose a favorite band it would have to be Queen.

    Geek USA - Smashing Pumpkins.

The intense drum intro (and generally insane drumming throughout). The complete fuzzed out guitar. That extended screaming solo. And lo! The Smashing Pumpkins began their march to destroy my 1 dimensional love of Velvet Revolver and Guns 'n Roses.

Brown Sugar - The Rolling Stones: I used to listen Sticky Fingers when I was a kid, and this was the first track on it.

All Right Now - Free: Heard this on the radio. I know its not their best, but this was their first track I heard, although of course I've moved past it now.

Pinball Wizard - The Who: Heard it on the radio, had no idea for years.

Get Down to It - Humble Pie: I'm slightly ashamed of this, as I first heard it playing GTA: San Andreas, and thought it was a good song. So I bought their first two albums and Performance: Rocking the Filmore.

Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival: This one is because of Forrest Gump, when he goes to Vietnam. I heard the track, loved it, and looked the band up.

Rory Gallagher - As the Crow Flies: I'd heard good things about some Irish guitarist, so I decided to check him out. Now, my favourite Irish musician. Strangely, I'd been to Rory Gallagher Place in Cork, and had no idea about it. I was even in the shop where he bought his Strat, had no idea I was standing on hallowed ground. I now fully appreciate those places.

Positively 4th Street - Bob Dylan: My dad told me download this, so I did. Didn't think it was that great. A few months later I listened to it again. Havent looked back. This is pretty much the song that changed my music taste. Before I was into Slipknot (First heard Wait and Bleed), and other...crap.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - the Beatles. My brother had Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and this was the song I heard first. I remember being shocked at the high pitch of John Lennon's voice ... I hadn't heard much singing then, I guess.

D'You Know What I Mean - Oasis. I had just picked up Be Here Now on a whim and this is the first song. Just totally clicked. It was entirely different from anything I've heard before and I loved it. And I still love Oasis.

Vicarious - Tool. I like 10,000 Days, Right in Two, and Lateralus more as songs but this introduced me to Tool. In fact Mimirswell sent this song to me on MSN and I couldn't even understand the words, didn't like it. Revisited it later and fell in love.

Hells Bells - AC/DC. At first I loved the guitar and hated the vocals. Now I love everything.

Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin. Well, of course.

Time - Pink Floyd. One of the best songs ever made. Loved it from the start.

Everlong - Foo Fighters. This song just wtfpwns.

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana. Mmmm, teen spirit.

2+2=5 (The Lukewarm.) - Radiohead. This is a great song, I dunno. Not their best but it made me like Radiohead.
