    Default Gunpowder Problems

    Hi chaps,

Need help with my gunpowder units. Once upon a time my musketeers and arqeubusiers stood and fired impressive volleys etc. Now I'm playing Kingdoms and updated MTWII, and they mill around in the middle of a battle, constantly reforming. Occasionally one or two might fire a musket, but most of the time they line up. Turn around, countermarch and so on. They just wont stand still and fire! I really need help here, or I'm going to have a wasted army, and a section of the game ruined

PS. Artillery is fine, just these blasted musketeers etc. Problem is same with every faction

    Cheers,

    Kess

Hey, thanks for the post Zarboz. Unfortunately I have tried this already and it doesn't help It's really annoying me now, my tercio pikemen now get slaughtered because the musketeers do bugger all behind them!

    Ahh, I've found the problem.

In the descr_unit file, musket units are set to have the first rows fire then move back a row to let the second row shoot next. This is caused by the attribute "fire_by_rank". After removing this attribute from all musket units the soldiers are no longer constantly reforming making them much more responsive and efficient.

PUT THEM in front of your pikemen and they will fire.
