Just played 20 turns as Aragon in an early campaign on h/h and I had something cool happen. A princess from Leon asked to marry my faction heir in return for an alliance, I accepted. The next turn the moors attacked me and on Leon's next turn they attacked the moors. The alliance held up really well. Also the Papal States have not gone to war with Sicily yet.
I've noticed with Lusted's AI releases that that type of thing happens alot no matter what faction your playing..... they are true to border alliances and stick up for you when you get owned by another faction
anything i should be testing for in particular?
Well this version is mostly to test for Papal aggression(shouldn't really be any), see how many factions get excommunicated and see how AI defends v humans.

After testing your new AI for aggression of the pope, something weird happened in my game.

Another update, further improvements to amount of catholic v catholic wars, how many allies papacy makes.
What i also need to do at some point is basically redo the defend decisions because atm there are too many for what the AI really needs, it just needs a few simple ones which should help it defend better.
I also need to work on AI factions wanting peace.
Though overall i am very happy with the direction my campaign AI is going, helps improve the campaign a lot, makes diplomacy worthwhile and still keeps that Total War feel.

Tried the first AI on this thread and it works fine - have only been playing about 25 turns now though. Scotland is the only catholic faction that's excommunicated at the moment, Aragorn was some turns ago(after a war against France, but got reconceled quite quickly).
Ai attacks over water a lot more - maybe even more than over land? Scotland allways invades Norway, often eliminating the faction with the help of England.
To KK: might be an idea to give Scotland fewer ships or lower level harbors?
In my game the pope excommunicated Sicily and called a crusade against Palermo but did not attack Sicily themselves which they had done with previous versions so I think you are headed in the right direction.
Good to hear, thanks for the feedback.

Alrighty then. Dled and i'm starting up as a Catholic faction to see the changes first hand.
I think this version is much more balanced - the pope excomunicates Catholic factions more seldom and the only two kingdoms that war against other catholic factions are generally England and HRE, sometimes France goes to war against Milan and/or Aragon too, but not as often as England and HRE are declaring war.
Overall: the best campaign AI I have tried so far, thanks Lusted!
Glad you are enjoying my AI.
