The horde thing is still in as far as I know. The mongols and timurids are classified as hordes in descr_sm_factions.txt. You can try giving Scotland similar entries (but change the horde units) and then beating them quickly with England in a campaign to test if it still works properly.

You'll probably start a new campaign to test if it works. If it does, load up a saved game and destroy the faction in question. Then you'll know.
Has this worked? Does anyone know how to turn ordinary factions into hordes? I hate it when a faction is destroyed and I would like to add this feature for all of the MTW2 factions so that they might have at least the oppurtunity to find a new home after they lose a war. This would be especially nice for factions like Byzantium, France, Scotland, and Portugal who are usually quickly over run. Do you simply add the "horde" attribute to the faction, or is it more complex? Does anyone know at this point?
Yes, just go to your descr_sm_factions file and copy and paste the horde information that is found in the mongols and tumurids part into your faction.
For example here is my MacDonald Faction from this file:
I've tested this and it works fine. Try it on your faction say denmark (they oinly have one town). Yes you'll have to start a new campaign, check your log for errors that maybe causing the crash... It will probably be something in the decsr_sm_factions if thats what you have altered last.
I have successfully used this in the past.
Have in mind that when a faction changes from "proper" faction to horde it takes a lot of time for the computer.

i don't have to start a new campaign so it works.
You can make emerge as many units you want, also as many generals. I did with 30 generals and over 200 000 men to test. After about 2 minutes, this big army appeared.
So basically you had 100 full stacks of army and 10 generals.... the army must have taken half a continent...
I really think you need to tone that down. This is an army from the apocalypse. It will devastate the whole world.

You have to keep them at bay for 6 turns.Spartans kept the Persians for 6 days of constant fighting.
You can use 2 spartan phalanxes and a few auxiliaries. Oh... and find a passage where only 5-6 soldiers will be fighting at a time.![]()

I have make that for all factions in my personal PFER 1.0,the mongols take Tiflis(Georgia),but they kill all generals,well Georgia survive with his patriarch.
