Is there a logic behind venetian troop heirarchy?
Why are Dis. Men-at-arms ranked higher than Dis. Feudal knights when the latter are better in every way? Same goes for their mounted counterparts.
Also, are the Venetian HI really better than Dis. Feudal Knights? Sure they have the Anti-armor attack but their armour pales in comparison. I tried doing a 1 vs 1 with VHI and DFK and the latter won.

Re: Is there a logic behind venetian troop heirarchy?
Unit stats are fugged up in relation to costs / heirarchy position for most factions. Dont be surprised. Unless there is a formulaic way of deriving costs / heirarchy, you cannot rely on anything but the snap judgement of the designer. That is why I instituted a cost structure for everything that a unit has in my mod so that I wouldnt be creating units according to my whim.
I get the feeling most units in the game were given stats according to what some guy thought they should have when he was making them. They probably gave each faction to one guy at CA and said "these are the ranges of the stats. Your best units cant go over this number, your worst under this number, use your judgement". Because that is what the results look like.
