OMG...game not working correctly.

My first battle on my fresh install, 1.0, milan on a bridge battle vs. the pope and his troops, and the game isn't working properly. The troops aren't moving correctly, sometimes not carring out orders i give, and whenever i select a unit instead of deselecting what i used to have selected it adds to what i had selected, as if i were holding ctrl. The number groupings you can make by hitting (1-9) + ctrl don't work either.

This looks like a keyboard or mouse problem. Or maybe you accidentally enabled sticky keys during the game.
