Any fans out there? I pretty much became a borderline fan to a huge fan overnight a few weeks ago when I heard all of Deloused at the Comatorium. I immediately went out and got Amputechture and Frances the Mute.

I hear they're coming out with a new album called Bedlum at the Goliath. That should be amazing.

Greatest Prog Rock outfit out there IMHO.

listen to them, though deloused in the comatorium is by far the better album. the guitarwork is amazing and i can assure you they are ****ing awesome live. i used to be a pretty huge fan a few years back but i'm just not that in to music as a whole and i haven't listened to them in quite a while now. might dig it back out though.

I loved the Mars Volta when I first heard their single on the local roch station...didn't really go past that at first. I love this song.

I got De-loused in the Comatorium a few weeks ago but I haven't really gotten the chance to really listen to it. They're one of the few modern bands that I like

The Mars Volta are an amazing band. Incredible musicianship, and outstanding, complex song writing. Truly one of the best bands out there these days. I'd also recommend At the Drive-in (The two founding MV members came from it). Not nearly as good, but highly enjoyable none-the-less.

Listening to De-Loused right now (Drunkship of Lantern, to be exact), and it's pretty awesome. They're prog with a very modern sound. I can't tell if the latter is a good thing or a bad thing, but nevertheless, they rock. Some awesome musicianship here.

Certainly not a bad thing in my eyes!

Their main distinguishing aspect bringing their Progressive writing into the modern stage is the production on their music. It's superb, and distinctly modern. No Progressive act in the 60s-70s would have gone where they are. Not to say it's necessarily better nor worse, it's just advancing into areas not covered previously.

I'm half-way through Frances the Mute, and to be honest I'm not enjoying it too much. It probably needs time to grow on me...

Listen to all of Gemini. Deloused is a better album to dive into first though.

Great band, one of the few truly impressive bands to emerge recently. I've only got Deloused in the Comatorium, so I really need to pick up their other albums.
