    Default retrofit mod +

    I have recently added a new map to the retrofit mod. It is a version of BigMap that I have altered over the last year (if you want to get an idea about the map, just click on my sig and look for the map in the Dawn of Kingdoms thread). I have also added Ireland from the Kingdoms expansion. I plan to add several more factions, some from Kingdoms and some that Fra70 and I made for Dawn of Kingdoms mod.

    In addition, I plan to make several balancing changes (king's purse, costs, build times, etc.) to accommodate the 2 turns/year timescale. After adding some more factions, I will try to play around with adding some stone forts and what have you to the map. I will more than likely use burrek's textures where I can with units. If someone knows of any mod that has reskinned the kingdoms factions, please let me know.

    Also, any suggestions are welcome.

    I will post some screenshots as I move further along.

    Sorry if this was sorted already, but the ordinary MTW seems to have Middle Eastern cities for the Aztecs on the battle map. Using the Americas resources to make a slightly more functional and aesthetically pleasing faction would be great.

    Great work on the mod!

    Ok...so far I have added Ireland and the Duchy of Burgundy. Here are the rest of my faction plans.

    1. I plan to add the following factions to complete this mod:

    County of Toulouse
    Kingdom of Aragon
    Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia
    Qıpçaq Khanate
    Kingdom of Doclea and Dalmatia
    Kingdom of Lithuania
    Teutonic Order (emerging faction)

    Most of the aforementioned factions are already finished and only need to be implemented.

    2. I also plan to make Portugal an emerging faction.

    3. Some of the factions will require minor changes to be made to the map.

    4. I am not certain when I will release this, but it will not be before I add at least one or two more factions. So, the first release will likely be toward the end of the coming week. I plan to release it in stages. That way, I can get feedback as I move along.

    Ok...it looks like I'll need a little bit more time to finish this. So far...

    1. Factions added:

    Ireland
    Duchy of Burgundy
    County of Toulouse
    Aragon

    2. Ireland reskinned. I was tired of having the Irish looking ridiculous and shiny green, so I reskinned the most offensive textures (horseboys, ceitherne, ostmen), as well as the standard textures (peasants, mail, etc.).

    3. adjusted regions and starting positions for all factions.

    4. Adjusted costs, income, pop growth and other balancing issues.

    *For the first release, I plan to...

    -add 3 more factions:

    Cilician Kingdom of Armenia
    Cumans (Kipchaks)
    Kingdom of Doclea and Dalmatia

    -make further balancing adjustments.

    I have decided not to release this until these 3 factions are included...basically for balancing reasons. Don't worry, it will not take very long. Two of the three factions are already complete and only need to be implemented to the mod.

    Update...

    Ok... here's the scoop:

    1. So far, I have added 5 factions...

    Ireland
    Burgundy
    Toulouse
    Aragon
    Duklja (Serbia)

    2. This week I will add two more:

    Armenia
    Cumans

    3. I have also added some of the features from various other mods:

    Burrek's textures
    Blood, Broads and Bastards (king death message, regional titles)
    DG's one faction at a time (Byzantium reskin)
    Kings Banner (some shields and some banners)

    4. I have reskinned the Irish faction from Kingdoms.

    5. I have included some of the units from Kingdoms for use as regional rebels (i.e. Welsh units in Wales, etc.) and mercenaries.

    6. I am working on a script that will have Portugal emerge from its Burgundian origins.

    7. Some new units.

    I'm sure there are some other things that I am forgetting at the moment.

    If there is anyone that is willing to lend a hand, I could use some help on unit cards and unit info pics for the new factions. This is turning into a lot more work than I had anticipated. Help will mean it will be done faster.
