Default Are Leinster and Meath Playable?

I was thinking of buying this game and I just wanted to know if Leinster, Meath or any of the Irish kingdoms are playable?

There are four Irish nations in 1453, cannot remember their name though. Normally Irish minors are pretty hard to play due to lack of resource and manpower, continuing compeition with neighbour and outside invader (I even saw French crusade Ireland before).

In Ireland you can play as Leinster, Munster, Tyrone(Ulster)
    Connacht.
You can't play as Meath as it is controled by England.

And yes, it is Suicide to play as an Irish minor.

There was some lad on the Paradox forum who conquered Europe as Tyrone though.

Plus when you unify the Irish Isle either by diploannexeation or conquest, you can form the kingdom of Ireland.

    It's the Confederate of Ireland.

    Ireland was never a kingdom.

No kidding. But you can form the Kingdom of Ireland if you conquer the other petty states and drive the english out.
Island nations are generally easy to play as and the irish are no exception once they've unified the island.

It was. Henry VIII made Ireland a kingdom after he broke from Rome, supposedly to increase loyalty.

@OP: Yeah, you can play as Connauct, Leinster, Munster and Ulster. Meath is controlled by England though. And they can't be released by England as an independent minor.

According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.

The country you can form in Europa is the Confederate of Ireland.
    Not the kingdom.

And besides the Kingdom of Ireland was called the United Kingdoms of Great[cough] Britian and Ireland.
It was under union with Britian.

It didn't become a independent nation until the 1940's.

In 1.3 I usually saw AI unified Ireland within 50 years. Not sure how they achieve it so fast though.

There is no need for diplo-annex, even you conquer everyone and force-annex you only gain 6 badboy point, which is easy to deal with since you probably would not fight anyone in Europe after Ireland unification. England does give some serious headache though.

I've played a game as Leinster where I unified the island and played as a merchant and colonising state.

Cúchulainn, I honestly don't understand what you don't seem to be grasping.

This entire game is entirely theoretical (unmodded anyhow).
What use is the kingdom of Italy, or Germany? Neither existed in the way the game portrays them until the 1800s.
What use is being given the option to play any nation?

Forming the THEORETICAL Kingdom of Ireland from one of the minor states on the island of Ireland is triggered by conquering the other minor states on the island.

    Simple as that.

    But this is off topic.

However, I don't remember there is a country which has Dutch culture in 1453... I mean, that area is completely occupying by Burgury.
