    Default Help with being sieged

Hey everyone, lately i've been working on getting a very strong army in a castle, and then just wait till i got sieged. I got to say, it took damn long

But, now the Moors are finally sieging me, i just noticed the problem, they will most likely just keep sieging till i have to come out.

So the question is, can i force a enemy to assault my castle?

Only in the battle editor. In campaign mode there is no real way to guarantee an attack. You could always leave the settlement poorly defended as that is a good way to get them to attack but if you are building up an army in hopes of a siege there is little chance; the AI isn't that stupid

Yeah, if the AI consider your forces to strong they will propably just sit there and starve you out. I dont know if this works, but maybe disbanding a few units may encourage the AI to attack?

Does the AI army have siege weapons? If so then sally and set up your forces in defensive positions.

The AI will then start to attack your walls with its siege weapons

If you wanted a siege battle, the Moors aren't a likely candidate. They're all horses and skirmishers and so forth, the kind of thing that gets slaughtered in a city street.
If you just want a fight, try sending out a single unit just before they attack. Then attack with the single unit and withdraw and you have the whole army in a field battle.
The only way to ensure a seige battle is either a custom battle or not having ace armies.

thanks for the responses everyone, i guess i'll try the battle editor then, but shame you can't make the AI even more stupid =P

And strangely, moors did attack meon the 3rd turn of the siege, a full army, 1000 vs 1000 ish, with alot of siege weapons, it was fun to have my first serious siege battle! Got to say it is way more interesting than field battles.

good idea with the sending out a single unit and withdrawing, i will use that now to. I'm sure i will have alot of chances since im at war with every faction and they just alk right next to my castle anyway

After the 30th siege like that... you won't be that enthusiastic...
Man i get annoyed with sieges..... especially turns when it take 3 hours to go through all the sieges... usually break that up into smaller bits... so turns take forever.

Yeah the buggers will always starve you out unless you place another stack next to the settlement to entice them to either break the siege or go your other stack. Once they do, your stack within the settlement will join the OPEN FIELD BATTLE for a more fairer fight.

Have to repeat, if they have siege weapons then sally and simply stay behind your walls. It initiates the siege battle (forces them to assault ) which I believe is what the OP desired

mythre, yea i know what you mean. they run out of range, drop their equipment and watch you. although i have gotten them to attack my castle once when i sallied out..... but i was shooting them with catapults.and then they began shooting with thier trebuchets, i lost a wall and then i hid in the seconed layer of my castle while they were in the streets. bloody battle though, quite fun
