    Default Link to RS1.5

I've just uploaded the link to the new Upgrade for RS1. I called it RS1.5 because it's actually a pretty major upgrade, and not really a hotfix.

    http://files.filefront.com/RS1+5exe/.../fileinfo.html

This must be installed over an RS1 install including RS1.10b and Hotfix 1.10c.

Included in this package is the whole 'UI' and a mod.pak file. So there is no longer any need to pack and unpack any files. This will also make it easier for everyone, especially those wanting to work on UI unit cards or building cards.

Have a look at it, play around with it. Squid, if you would, you can make an installer for it.
If\when you have time, you could add this to the rest and make one installer...as I said, all the pak stuff will no longer be necessary.
I am done for now with RS1.

This is NOT save game compatible by any means. If you try it it will crash. Squid...dang, can you take the Britons and slaves out of custom battles. I forgot.

Pseudo, in the important stuff folder there is a directory called 'recruitment', and in there one called 'civil_war_test'. That file turns all units into 10 turn recruitment just to really slow things down.

Hey DVK, I am unable to play it for a few days due to the fact that I am out of town, but I was wondering what factions were open for testing (preferably a greek faction, carthage, or rome).

DVK I like the roman date but could you explain it again.
And when does it (according to it) goes past B . C. ?
Will there be any messages speaking of Christs birth ? or Death .
    thanks.

The words after the date 'Ab Urbe Condita' mean 'from the founding of the city'. I explained all this in the forum just now in a new thread.

I love the download bar .
2.Was this assortment in the free peoples that you want ? hoplites ?
But its still cool! Or were you making these free peoples as Greek and barbarian influenced ?

Fabulous, also a heads up, hopefully today, but perhaps not until tomorrow, I'll be posting an update to this patch, that will include the temple re-alignment as well as an ancillary patch with all the new priests.

Oh, oh, shall I hold off then? I pretty much have to see this because of the way the 'britons' (Free People) are restricted in building temples.

Weren't you going to shift the britons to be a greece area faction only? Also I've had a brief look at the files, and wasn't Pontus also supposed to be shifted to be a greek culture faction?

EDIT: If you didn't shift them, I have to change the requirements slightly for the temples, which shouldn't take too long.

Those changes were made in RS2 only. I tried to make the change in RS1 but it got so complicated it was like rewriting the dang thing...plus CTD's everywhere. So I gave up.

If you look at the EDB.txt file in RS1.5, you'll see that the britons can build temples, but where they can build a Greek temple it will say:

    or factions {britons, } and hidden_resource gre

This just means they can only build their Greek temples in greek cities.

The temple re-alignment will be out later today, I'm just finding and fixing any errors I can.

Sigh, correction, it will be out in the morning, as tonight turned into a long night and although the files are sitting waiting for me to assemble them, I didn't have time to do so.

You could always just run an AI campaign, add -ai to the target line of the shortcut.

An AI campaign won't work....it actually has to be done by a player, unfortunately. 'Florin80' has already verified that the CTD never happens in AI tests, but will when the campaign is played by the player.....that is, with the old year system.
