Yes I had it deactivated after a bios update for my motherboard, although I have done it numerous times since without issue. Any hardware or firmware update runs the risk of deactivating your OS. Ultimately call it in talk to the support and you should be up and running again without issue. A pain but reality.

Ive changed my graphics card various times since getting Vista and had no problems with deactivation.
