I recently downloaded ver 1.0 and I just noticed the recommended fixes topic but I dont know if my version of 1.0 has these or doesnt. Is there way to tell and if not; dose downloading these on top of a version with them have any adverse affects?

Easy, apply all of the permanent fixes as soon as you see a new one, but be careful though as some may not be save game compatible, and apply the temporary fixes to try and get yourself past CTDs, and then use your back-ups to un-apply them once past the CTD. It's up to you whether you apply the optional fixes, but again some may not be save game compatible.

There is only one version of EB v1.0 and it doesn't have any fixes.
All of the permanent fixes are possitive only.

It is actually a ".rar". If you got that, then it was either corrupt or you didn't open it with a program that can read .rar's. Do you have something like WinRAR or 7-Zip that can open compressed files?

Forgive me if this sound stupid but what exactly do you mean by .rar I should mention I have no problems what so ever with all the other updates I am guessing that its corrupt but if I am missing a step could you explain in detail how to rectify this error preferably in plain English I have a very limited knowledge of moding.Originally Posted by MarcusAureliusAntoninus

Download and install this, then you should be able to just right-click and "extract to...".

An RAR is a type of compressed file. I believe all the rest of the fixes are in ZIP files, which is also a compressed file, though windows can recognize ZIPs. Download something like WinRAR (see above post) or 7-zip which can read RAR files.
