soooo i started at this britania campaign as norway it seemt like a nice chalenge and my god it realy is only its not that funny any more becouse i cant setup my economic becouse these scots keep attacing me with full armies. i keep repelling them but now i am -7859 in red :s and this is not funny i took 2 scotsh city s and still thy keep harrassing me my cities only pay me like 800 max so i never get any money. no money = bye bye troops its a suicidal camapign ore am i rong? maybe some tips will help thx any way

CHEAT YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS!!! WOOOO!

Ahem. I would suggest all the standard stuff:
1. All cities/towns in backwater, quiet areas should be garrisoned only to what you dont pay upkeep for. Castles not on a frontline should be garrisoned with just enough to kepp the people happy, castles on borders should be garrisoned minimally to defend and useless castles should be converted.

2. Put a general or two with every field army for that extra battle winning burst.

3. Do not auto-resolve anything. Auto resolve is fine later on, but at this stage you have to keep an eye on every aspect of your empire to stay out of the red, recruitment and retraining will not help. Take control in order to minimalise losses.

4. When fighting defensively, use the terrain. Place an army at the base of a mountain or hill, and lure the enemy there. Its possible to take out literally thousands with minimal losses doing this. Another thing to do in this situation is to take archers with flaming arrows and light cavalry. Your archers will get a range bonus, and the fire will rout the enemy quickly, because they are tired after the long march uphill, then the light cavalry can rush out and capture lots, earning you precious florins in ransom.

The Object Is To Make The People Happy...By Just Building Only Buldings That Increase Population And Maintain Happiness..Only Have Like 1 Castle...And Increase Taxes To Very High..Just Make Sure Its Not Red..Red Will Cause a Riot..And Only Garrison Peasants In Cites..And Use Your Castle To Maintain All Your Soldiers..

pfff these scots never pay ransom i alwas ask ransom for the captured men but thy never pay me just kill them thy say we dont care so i never get ransom. my cities towns castles every thing is garrisoned with only 2-3 units so thats not the problem i need to defend 2 castles with 4-5 units becous thy get attact every time by those damned scots its like 600 to about 2000 enemies and still i get nothing pfffff

How much land do you control in Scotland itself? It would be useful to determine exactly what you will need to defend with, and what can be used on the offensive.

wel this campaign is lost i can t make any money so i am just gonne try it over again :-) thx for t he help and lets hope this new one is gonne be a bit bether than the last one ;-)

Yeah please do, Im playing as Ireland right now and it is nice and easy, kick the english out and you have loads of time and money to upgrade your cities and make loads of money for war.

Norway seems like a real challange though.... I am actually from your capitol.. Wick in Scotland
