    Default Few general questions~

Hello I have a few general questions:

On the campaign map, sometimes diplomats and princesses do their actions (like bowing, presenting documents) but nothing happens. What does that mean?

There are two modes of speed for the campaign map, normal and fast. Normal is painstakingly slow while fast is just . . . fast. I do enjoy watching the detailed movements on the campaign map, but is there any way I can set the speed to be somewhere in between normal and fast?

For gunpowder units, is it normal for them to reform after every shot?

What are the differences between many of the cavalry units? If I take a look at France's cavalry, for example, many of them have the same or very similar stats (attack, defence, charge, etc.) Is just to offer a variety in the looks of the units?

That's about all I can think of for now (I'll have to play more to remember them) Thanks~

    1. A lot of people believe this is an indication of declining relations with the faction who has the diplomats/princesses outside of your settlement. Personally I dont think this is the case, as I have had allies do this to me all game and still have good relations with me.

    2. I find that that best way to do things, especially if you follow AI moves like I do, to be play your turns on normal speed, then speed up the AI turns. I dont think there is any other way around this.

    3. Yes. Apparently there is some way to mod the game so the gunpowder units do not reform after every volley, but I think its a real benefit once they actually start firing.

    4. Some horses move faster than others, for one thing. For example, in terms of England, Demi Lancers will move faster than English Knights, despite the fact they are both heavy cavalry. Also, I believe each unit has a different mass value, which affects charge too. Another thing to point out is the difference in upkeep. While for France, Noble Knights and Chivalric Knights are the same essentially, one cost a fair amount less in upkeep per turn.

Hope these answers helped, and welcome to the TWC.
    I love you all!

i think there are two reasons for the bowing.
    1) when princesses do it, they are proposing marriage to a general in the army, but obviously this gets declined.
    2) when diplomats do it they are trying to bribe, but this gets declined.

these are the only two reasons that i can think of for them.

The diplomat option could very well be true, but I'm not so sure about the princess one. Whenever another princess tries to steal a general and fails, I get a message telling me what happened. So that cant really be the case...
Its probably just a bug... :S

I must agree. My married HRE faction heir is in Jerusalem and here comes the Templar princess; for 5 turns Princess Mindless drags me away from the area I am trying to watch so I can see her bow to my Prince. I finally had enough of that so I bump her into Gaza (Get off my lawn you airhead!) So what does she do? She starts bowing to the married general I have there

Needless to say my 15 subterfuge Assassin is in transit to the area (alliance be damned.)

I'm sure that an attempt to bribe could be the reason with diplomats, but princesses cant bribe at all, yet they still do it. It makes my brain confused... :S

The princesses are scripted on the same procedures as the diplomats.

Using these people as assassin training units is great, but will it not affect your relationship with that faction ?

I think we can all agree a successful assassination shouldn't but the game just doesn't work that way.

By assassinating rebels your assassin will only develope to a certain level, you need to provide more of a "Variety" of targets is my experience to get them to improve further.

Rebels don't have diplomats etc just armies with captains.

Those diplomats make for good assassin training. They are generally low on influence (because they don't succeed in their diplomacy), making them easy to kill.
