Default new roman family system "gens etc"

i noticed the romans have a new family trait system concerning the "gens". 1st==> that is awesome, 2nd ==> its very interesting to read, 3rd ==> it doesn't seem to follow a specific logic? (or i'm wrong )

i noticed that belonging to a certain gens gives a character more chance to get this or that trait in this or that domain. good. so i was hoping that by incorporating the gens octavia or gens ivlia i'd get a lineage fit to push through the marian reforms after 172 BC, since they are the gens good at stirring up the plebs. good. however, now my perfect iulii family members sons belong to the gens cornelia & fabia? there goes my plan .

so i suppose this system is random based? and creating a well bread lineage of demagogues wont be possible?

and certain families dont display what bonuses they will give? like the lineage of catilina (sergia) is it because it still needs updates? or are the sick mindtwists (brutality, incest,...) of catilinas line all present (though his ancestors weren't that sick i guess ?

the gens are not complete yet, several more are still waiting to be added. the only reason your sons would belong to another gens is if they were adopted, AFAIK.
