Default Skins in this mod skip some armour levels?

I have downloaded this mod after getting a new PC (q6600, 8800gt) and turned everything up to max, looks great.
However I am somewhat dissappointed upon using the custom battle maker in this mod. I upgraded a few factions to max. To see the max plate armour.
Most units do not seem to reflect this at all, is this just Burreks skins not being completed yet?
I used to enjoy upgrading the armour factories and watching the troops turn out a little more shiny... or in partial plate.
It seem that Burrek's skins have only one or two iterations, missing the padded, light mail, heavy mail, partial plate, full plate, advanced plate seps somewhere.

If this is true and I am not missing something, how do I get the original skins back?

I guess one would be the halberdiers. They looked awesome in half and full plate. Don't know if they even get past mail now

Halberd and pike militia only have Some Plate

Voulgiers and billmen, for example, have a lot of plate

Depends on the unit, but the models are really good with full plated units, you just have to know wich ones use them

I could have sworn last time I played HRE I had halberdiers with partial plate, knee guards in plate and elbow guards.

It does appear that all the skins have indeed been changed at each armour level though.

ok the above are Burreks skins, here are the same in standard mtw2 skins of original vanilla.
Looking at these makes me really appreciate the detail in the originals. I've said many times before that for some reason that Burreks skins seem to be missing the 3D effects that the vanilla skins seem to have. they seem to be missing lighting effects and raised features such as the padded jerken effects.

I don't pretend to know, I just can't put my finger on what it is. Burreks colour schemes are great, but the textures are flat like somebody used the fill tool in paint too much. Anyways it would be great to have original skins and this mod. Is there perhaps some kind of bump mapping sequence that is being missed?

That's the first M2TW unit I've seen with ''gold'' armour.

Yeah, it seems most units have only the bronze upgrade, while a few have silver.

Yup, only a few have the full range of upgrades (which i love btw, im not a fan of having 324234 different kind of units. Id rather take one unit and upgrade it )

One example is the Templar Spearmen.

Agree that not all units need an advanced plate upgrade.
But some by the time the end game, would have at least had Front Rankers with full plate.

That reminds me, one of the other things that always bothered me about this game was the predominance of Kite shields that belong to the year 1066 stay all the way until the end of the game.
Now I can understand a couple of kite shields hanging around, but not whole units, especially new units! Like the tuetonic Plate Armoured Knight/Spearmen with kite shields!!! This is just silly. Shields from the First crusade in use hundreds of years after they were phased out by whole units whom otherwise have the latest gear.

I guess the real trick for me is to put the old skins back in, is it possible?
I mean with all the modifications I imagine its not just a simple cut and paste?

If Burrek's skins dont modify the modeldb file at all, then you just need to delete the texture files for all the units in the data\unit_models directory...which in itself will be a HUGE job.

The skins are fine but I do think that they sometimes could fit the colors of a faction more.

Sicily got way too colorfull for my tastes for example. I did like the black and white color sceme, a little color would have been enough to better seperate them from revels.

Burreks textures probably don't have detailed normal maps lie the vanilla skins.

detailed normal maps? Not sure what you mean by that.
I actually like all the colour schemes he has made, so if they had normal maps they would look much better?

Anyway, somebody want to give me a quick tute on how to remove the burrek textures from data\unit_models directory. I will certainly attempt this.
Although I am guessing some must be left their for the new units?

Normal maps give the 'depth' to the vanilla M2TW textures, but i know of a few skin packs that replace them with simple ones as the vanilla ones very closely match the texture.

He is either busting or squinting

I guess the real way to think of this whole thing is.

If both Vanilla and Burreks skins were from modders. Which versions would you pick?

I never played with vanilla skins. But from your screenshots in this thread, I must say I like Burreks skins more.
