    Default Bad traits

Is there a cheat out there to never have my generals pick up bad traits and bad retinues?

I know there's a command to give and receive traits, but I don't want them to get these traits in the first place.

    Maybe some descr.txt file change?

    Hi all,

Hey I am not sure how to fix your problem, but I will check around. By the way what you do when you wanna give and receive traits. For example when you wanna give some of your traits to your faction heir. I tried but couldn't do it. Is there a file or something for that. Any help is appreciated!

i think that it's the same cheat used in rtw to give traits, but dont know exactly what you type in. and then you need the list of traits which is somewhere in the various folders...
what could work is if you edited that folder by putting a ; before every bad trait the game wouldnt be able to 'read' them, and so wouldn't give them to anyone...

One way too not pick up some bad traits is building. destroy all taverns and brothels immediatley. I tested this once, two brothers went to different cites. They were roughly the same. I destroyed all the buildings and using money cheats and auto_win attacker to fend off assaults, I made one a sleazy hoel and the other a bright and shining example of Tech.
The first brother built brothels, inns, taverns and farms to brew hops. The second built good stuff, farms, trade, roads, ports, never brothels. When they finally died, the first brother was quite earlier. He was sexually perverted, corrupt, drunkard and disloyal. Second brother was honest, good builder, rural/trade expert, honest and very very loyal. No brothels!

It's still way too easy to pick up bad traits.

Even though I don't build those bad buildings, my generals still pick up bad traits. I had a young general (under 30) with almost full stars in command. I put him in a castle and he managed to pick up the Foreign Fruitcake retinue that decreases all the troops moral by 3 or 4.

Lol, where was the castle? Was it in a vastly different region to yours, like south Euro if your northen or middleeastern. Priests would fix the problem, though this is purely armchair rationale.

The cheat to remove a trait is done by clicking on the character when it's outside of a settlement, then open the console and type:
    remove_trait this Drink
Common bad traits are Girls, Corrupt, Perverted, Insane, Deranged.

You can prevent a character from getting some traits by giving them counter traits like Prim, Sobriety, Sane with the give_trait cheat. It works similarly to remove_trait but you have the option to give a level of the trait you want.
