For some reason when I select two or more grups of units and click, G, the formations don't show up? I have the latest versions installed and whatnot so what is the problem?

Have you checked to make sure that your short-cut key for grouping units is G?

I believe that you must have only one group of units selected, though I could be wrong. Personally though, I just use Shift +1, 2, 3, etc. to select the formation (normally I only use either 1, which is a line, or 2, which is a column).

I'm not sure if he means selecting grouped units to form larger grops or selecting 4 units to make certain formations.
