Default What is your Favorite Faction and Why?

*Name your favorite faction and why you like em*

Faction- my favorite faction is a fight between Russia and Scotland.

Reason- I just like the challenge of starting off with one city, and minor armys.
Scotland- I like being able to take the underdogs and woop up on one of the big powers(Engalnd) and comletely change history by whiping them out, along with everyone else

Russia- Being able to start with 1 town, and grow so huge, and challange the pope himself is just thrilling to me.

Edit: opps, didn't realize this was in battle planning, sorry

    Scots or Vince

Scots- they start off small and their capital is easily defanded..and of course the thril of destroing England and France while not being exc.

Vince- because i can start invading across teh seas towards the mongols and other non-chatolic factions...and they are shielded by the pope preventing any invasion on their main terriorties...

I gotta say, I do love the English archer units. I know there are alotta snazzy units out there in the world, but a really really good stack of archers can thin out any ranks.

On the down side, they're on an island and really only have so many options to expand at first.

The Moors. Lots of good spearmen units, cheap and underestimated missiles, and a great selection of cavalry units, ranging from light to heavy, missile to erm... camel.

Their roster is crazy powerful in the late game, and their early roster is only really suited to take out light infantry and cavalry. They make you think about what you are doing, before giving you the uber stuff.
    I love you all!

I disagree Kahn, in my mind the island is not a setback - but an advantage. I can normally begin expansion of the French coast while invading France/Whales/Ireland without a risk of London being taken.

But yeah, England would be my favourite for Longbowmen.

The Moors, there early roster allows for some really inventive tactics before you get really strong powerful troops, very fun in my role playing as the 'Caphilate of Jerusalem' (I migrated to Jerusalem)
    Hammer & Sickle - Karacharovo

And I drank it strait down.

    *update*

what is your favorite city/fort to take over with your favorite faction and why.

For instance- Scots-i love to take Jerusaelm from Egypt when there is a full stack. Just an epic battle in my mind.

Once, when i was crusading towards Jerusaelm, i noticed the mongols were moving in. . . so when ever i got withen stricking distance of Jerusaelm, i had sent a diplomat to make alliances with the mongols. . . . we both sieged the city, and when we assaulted. . .it was just down right epic!

I realy dont have a favorite side, just like to play different sides with different challenges.

I really enjoyed playing the Turks, with the huge epic battles against the Mongols.

Also liked playing the Russians, with those powerful troops, defeating Poland and then take on Milan and Hungary. The fight for Budapest was just awesome.

Have to say playing as HRE or Sicily is pretty hard if you play on VH/VH settings.

I love the danes and scotts, brute power and extreme odds. Beating down the central/eastern european powers with the danes is great.

i am a fan of the byzantines and turks.

i find that i get bored with the western middle age battles between masses of dismounted feudal knights and archer militia and spearmen etc. they all have very similar early units.

if i can get passed that, i love the late portugese and spanish rosters...

I have to say it is easy the Byzantines. Fighting on all fronts against the Turks, Hungarians and Venetian and of course of the brilliant horse archers.

Probably HRE and Turks. They both get unique units, unlike most European factions. The only problem I have with the Turks is that no other faction likes me when I play them (from the start of the campaign), not even the other Islamic factions. HRE has lots of rebel settlements around it to expand into. After that it gets harder though and have to wait for someone to get excommunicated.

it was fun until i got attacked on all sides. lol. I was attack simultaneously by the Byzantines, the Polish, the HRE and Sicily and I lost all my lands in North of the Danube and ended up with Corinth, Rhodes and Nicosia. However, they have good heavy cavalry and good horse archers so they are a pretty good faction.

Building a unified Italy when playing as Milan. Dislodging the Pope is literally hell if you can not afford for him to bring you back into the protection of the church.

Moors on the Eastern side of things, Denmark or France in the West. Moors because of real history, the unit selection, and I just keep naturally coming back to them, France because they're fun to play and Denmark because of les Medieval Rambos
