Can't Install RTR!!!!!!

I can't get RTR to install after I download and unzip the file. When I unzip the file I get an unexpected error message that gives me the option to retry or skip. I keep pressing retry and it will eventually continue to unzip the file. Then when I install the program, the install bar gets about 85% complete and then I get an error message that says: "Data\UI\UNIT_INFO\MERC\RTR_AOR_WARBAND_INFO.TGA: This file contains invalid data. (error 2)" Then it tells me to completely instal the RTR Platinum v1.9 Full Install.

This keeps messing up no matter how many times I try, so I was wondering if anyone can help me because I'm really excited about trying RTR. I have the gold edition, version 1.5, and my OS is Vista (if that matters).

PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!![/COLOR]

try re-downloading - it sounds like your zip file is not complete?

I've redownloaded it MANY times already from different mirror sites, but still no results. I finally found a site I can download the file without errors, but after I download and install the file it opens up a folder with a bunch of game files and what looks like a launch icon, but instead of it actually being a launch icon, it's actually just the picture of the launch icon.

Is it possible RTR isn't Vista compatible, because this is getting really really frustrating.

did you extract the folders from the zipfile into a folder on your hard drive, or did you try to run the launch icon directly in winzip? executables often do wel if you run them without first properly extracting them ...

Maybe tell us what exact version you try to download and from which sites. In principle RTRPE is compatible with Vista. I`ve heard of a number of problems with TW games and mods on Vista, but there do seem to be people successfuly playing it on Vista.

That`s doesn`t sound right. What RTR version 6? RTR 6 Gold? And, again, what link were you using to dl it?

It was supposed to be the platinum edition. Anyways, maybe it would be easier if someone just gives me the link to the most trusted RTR download. I've had no success at www.rometotalrealism.org or www.rometotalrealism.com.
