What's your favourite electronic music genre. If you aren't into any electronic music then I guess don't vote (even if your into just one then still vote). Voting will be done manually (SHOCK HORROR SOMEONE NOT LAZY AT THE TWC OMGWTFBBQ!!!???) so post your answer and try and make it clear. I'm just wondering what the music base is here... (compared to say other forums or people in general). Be interesting to see what social and personality/intelligence things affect the TWC posters and therefore what music they like.

At the time of posting a lot of these are currently 0 but I'll have them as a possible option anyway. Heh perhaps someone will see something they haven't heard of before. If you believe I should further split up a specefic genre (or I have a missed one) then please post saying so.

    House-0/1/0
    Electro House-0
    Deep House (Daddy dee house)-0
    Progressive House-0
    Scouse-0
    Hard House-0
    Chicago House-1/0/0
    Tech House-0/0/1
    Acid House
    Trance-6/0/0
    Psytrance-0/2/0
    Goa Trance-1/0/0
    Progressive(trance)-0
    Progressive Psytrance-0
    Hardstyle-0
    Industrial-1/1/2
    Techno-1/0/0
    Minimal Techno-1/0/1
    Abstract-0
    Downbeat-0
Regga-1/0/0 (It's certainly electronic structured or at least the recent stuff is... debate anyone?)
World0/1/0(stuff like Shpongle's latest album is what I'm thinking of)
    Ambient-1/0/1
    Eurodance-0/1/0
    Dance-0/0/1
    Drum & Bass-0
    Breaks/Breakbeat-1/0/0
    Disco-0
    IDM-0
    Synth Pop-0
    Big beat-0
    Disco-0
Intelligent Dance Music (spot the ironey)-0
I'm not sure but I like some electronic film music(e.g. matrix triology)-0
    EBM-1/0/0

Well that's all I can think of off the top of my head. My vote goes to Goa Trance closesly followed by Techno and Breakbeat. BTW PM me for Goa Trance, techno or breakbeat sets.

Glad to see you put a reggae option - the correct term is ragga (if it's electronic dancehall stuff, which I think is what you mean, rather than roots reggae).

    Also, you've got disco twice.

My votes go to ragga, euro-dance and dance. And yes, those last two only apply when I'm drunk (except to Barbie Girl, that's just great all the time )

I thought the reggae reference was more the Dub style music such as Mad Professor or Thievery Corporation tracks like Amerimacka or other dubby tracks.

Otherwise, especially with electronic I hate genre classifications.

    some favorites of mine are:
    Ninja Tune label
    Moving Shadow label
    Thievery Corporation
    The Orb
    Aphex Twin
    Amon Tobin

You have to many subgenres up there, yet no techno subgenres? Judas.

Just shorten it down to these main genres:

    House
    Jungle/Ragga
    DnB
    Techno
    Trance
    Hardcore
    Downtempo/Ambient

Then, if anyone wishes to give some subgenres, list em.

Oh, and it's all about techno, all of the Ed Banger crew, and of course, AIR.

Sorry I'm not the most literate on techno subgenres.

    No, it's the Truth.

I recommend early trance, before the cheesy anthems and 2 minute breakdowns.

Goa and Psy trance are the only trance genres left with any integrity left, if you ask me, or anyone who isn't a trancecracker. ;p

Me too. I vote 1 for each. I like pretty much everything really (even the things I hate-which falls into guilty pleasure category.)

Electronic music is music that in most instances don't need any form of passion, has borders, and in most instances are used by people too lazy to learn a proper instrument, all you need is patience, not persistence. I can mix you a trance masterpiece in about an hour and a half. I won't though!

I do have one Electronica album I can go good for though and that is Xploding Plastix's Amateur Girlfriends go Proskirt Agents, that is just cause they made it sound more organic, their second album wasn't to great, and for the rest of them, learn an instrument and listen to Zappa.

So are you saying that any music made using traditional instruments is superior to all electronic music?

    This is awful logic.
