Default CTD, requesting help. Mission failure

About 1220-playing as Sicily. I've just been given a new mission to blockade Kobais. The same city is under siege by my allies, Byzantium, although I don't have any units anywhere near. Kobais is Abbasid.

When I click for the next turn (and I have fog of war turned off so I can see where the CTD is happening), the Byzantines attack and take Kobais. CTD results-unspecified error.

I'm guessing the CTD has something to do with the mission-earlier in this same game, I was given the mission of taking Ajaccio, the last Venetian city. When I did that, CTD again. That was probably 100 turns ago-I've left Ajaccio alone since.

Anyone have an idea as to how I can work around this? My oldest savegame isn't far enough back for me to build a diplomat, move them up there to bribe off the Byzantines.

All ideas appreciated-thanks. First good mod I've come across for this game.

Try pushing it through and we'll see if it is not just a syntax error.

No luck trying to force it-all reloads resulted in the exact same CTD when the Byzantines captured the city. I studied up on cheats, moved a diplomat to the scene using the console, bribed off the Byzantine army, replaced the cash in my treasury and moved on. I've gone out about ten years past the problem and all's well.
