    Default map bugs

I recently installed RTR PE. I update RTW up to version 1.5, as I do not have BI. Playing as bactria, i started to send my agents around the map. I found that there was a continuous lie of impenetrable trees and mountains immediately north of my starting position. I couldnt send my army or my agents thru this "barrier." I found a simliar barrier dividing western Libya from easter libya.

Is the map supposed to be like this, and if so why? IF not how do i fix this?

    Anyone have the same problem?

It would be beter to just read the FAQ: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=121118 Point 5...

Ok so how do I remove these land blocks? I guess I sort of understand the bactria landblock, for the ai's sake, but that libya landblock is just obnoxious, and uneccessary. I understand this mod's drive to create accuracy, but that doesn't mean it should include preventing certain nations from fighting each other just because it didn't happen in real life.

I think there should be a randomness to the game, or else whats the point of playing it?

If it would have been random, that landblock would not have been there really. But it`s pretty much a rule ever since RTW was created. They will attack each other every campaign. It`s very annoying especially if you play Carthage and you have to keep producing units to fight for Lepcis Magna against egyptian armies that keep on coming.
As for taking it out.. the answer was also in the FAQ. For the simple version use the add-on from the optional add-ons pack. The mod switch version I think has it as part of its main installer.
But you won`t be able to remove only one of them. It`s either that both stay or both go.

YES YOU CAN. It's called doing it yourself... wouldn't be that hard either really.

Yes, I know I can and I did. What I clearly meant was that the optional add-on removes both(you only quoted part of my post). Doing it yourself as you call it envolves a bit of modding and not a simple add-on to install. If we start telling that to people here(it is not the modding section) then we might as well tell them to mod their own game from the start and not bother with any change(mod) made by others.

I've added the optional landblock removal when I play RTR PE. I started a Bactrian campaign and I just found it annoying.

I do understand why it was introduced - and thanks for the ability to remove it.

I thought the landblock only blocked the town of the territory so that the AI wouldn't try to take it but leave the land open for movement.

No, the two in RTRPE are just impassible terrain separating provinces. They block ... period.

well I did play a campaign where Carthage and the Ptolomies didn't attack each other.. probably because the Seleucids were destroying the Egyptians in the middle east

the landblocks (and landbridges for that matter) are the best thing since color tv. it makes the campaign around 9.4 times more realistic.
