Hey Tadzreuli, how old is this 'dance'/'exercise' tradition?
Last edited by Miraj; October 31, 2007 at 10:32 PM.
this kind of Georgian dances are preserved from prechristian time. it was from pagan history of georgia then all those dances were introduced, and then the christianity entered in georgia they dissmised some of traditional dances and
only those dances were preserved which was used during the wars and those which was made for fun and joy - like ''Bericaoba''. early elementes of this ''Bericaoba'' is preserved in a very opld sources about Heraklius invasion in Georgia in 627 then he alonside with Khan Jibghu of Khazaria besieged Tbilisi (capital city) but failed to take it . georgian prisoners show them all kinds of funny things and dicribed Emperor Heraclius and Jibghu in a very bad manner and didi it with the joy and fun. this is typical scene of Bericaoba and it was used even during the wars to describe the enemy in a bad way and to have laugh on them but only in the begining of war.
but this kind of fight dances mostly were used after the fight mostly in the night around the fire.
Through your intercession I hope to see the light of Thy son and the light of everlasting ages !
I've no idea on the specifics, but I believe it is quite old. As you probably know, "Sabre Dance" was composed for them.

I'm glad you guys liked them.
I've been trying to find videos of the martial races featured in BC and its not easy!
I think we should make a thread where we compile all these videos so that not only people can admire the beauty of AD and Strelac's handiwork, we get to see and understand more the races and cultures behind what make BC the most exotic and interesting of all the MTWII mod
Who says people can't learn from games?![]()

Great thread, I love watching these kind of cultural videos. I also happen to think India has the best dancers ever, and heres proof:

If you like that, watch this : (my sis-in-law intro'ed it to me, yesh my bro married an indian...WHEE! I've a Rajput in my family)
Guess now we know why the Mughals came to India and never left huh?
I suppose I shall prepare my Omani invasion army and plans at ONCE!
Anyway, did a bit of digging and found this georgian warrior dance called Kharumi. Basically, its meant to instill discipline, fitness and unit cohesion in georgian warriors. VERY COOL.
Hmmm..puts our modern army marching drill to shame![]()
