    Default Instalation

First off I would like to thank you for looking and before anyone says, "this is a problem to contact sega about," I posted on total war message board and no one from there company has posted in the "for those having trouble installing kingdoms thread" for a week or two now.

Ok so I have downloaded Medieval II and its expansion pack from Direct 2 Drive respectivly, but eveytime I try to install it after the screen that loads up all the information for the install it says, "You are running a version of Medieval Total War 2 that is not supported by this installer's patcher. Please download the latest version of Medieval Total War 2 from the store of which you purchased." I have downloaded and redownloaded both Games over and over again, thanks in advance guys.

Dude you have to have patch 1.2 and 1.3 applyed before u can install Kingdoms.

And I don't understand: You haven't installed "vanilla" version of MTW II??

I Have Vanilla installed and its patched up to 1.03, however, I don't believe that would be the problem being as kingdoms is supposed to automatically patch Medieval II up to 1.03

If the usual procedure (uninstall M2TW, create a fresh M2TW install, patch to 1.2, install Kingdoms) does not help, I would advise you to contact Direct 2 Drive customer support.

Thats right, Kingdoms does include all released patches so far.

As for the problem, I really cant help, as my copies are in disk form. Perhaps somebody who also downloaded in the same could help?

So yeah, pretty useless post from me, except to clear up that little question about patches. Good luck!
    I love you all!

You do not need any patch to install Kingdoms.

Thanks for your help guys, one of the guys from D2D finally responded, it turns out you have to install medieval for all users and then it works.
