    Default Other Tolkien-based games?

I absolutely love being able to total war in Middle Earth thanks to the FATW team! I was wondering if anyone knew of any other mods based on Tolkiens books. I ran a search and found LOTR total war but its for the Alexander expansion, which I don't have. Moria TW looks interesting but it's not complete yet. Has anyone found any other mods based in Middle Earth and are they any good?

Well, there also is Middle-earth: Total War, but it doesn't seem to be very active atm. They do have an old beta for 1.2 with campaign, but it's inbalanced. Fun to play though.

If you have the Alexander add-on, there´s also the movie-based Lord of the Rings - Total War open beta.

    You have LOTR:TW:

You can make an campaign starting in LOTR:TW and continuing in FA:TW, these two mods make a very good combination.

Eh, what's that supposed to mean ? :hmmm:

You can't switch from mod to mod, if that's what you mean.

He means that the player could 'imagine' that his campaign in 3rd Age continues in the 4th, since one mod picks up the story almostre where the other left it.

That's exactly what I was saying. You can start a campaign with Gondor in LOTR and continue with other challenges in FATW.

    LOTR it's not finished.
I think both are very good.

AHHH MY EARS!!!! Battle for Middle Earth? I couldn't stand that game .
I played the original on the pc and part two on xbox 360. I tried lotr:tw and there is no comparison it is much better than BFME, and TNS IMHO is better than lotr:tw(no offense to those who worked on lotr:tw it was a good mod).

But I read on a website that a guy has begun making a lotr:tw for M2TW and he is doing it by himself, I'm worried it will never get done with only one person doing it. But anyway great mod guys.

That 360 part probably played a large part in you not liking it.
