Default Sarkozy walks out of 60 Minutes interview

It's about time somebody talked sense into US journalism. Even though she was supposed to be asking about important stuff, she decided to ask him about his ex-wife. He delivered a retort and walked out. Good for him!

What I love about the French is they don't CARE if their leaders are having affairs. The French press will report it, but won't delve too deep. As long as the trains run on time, the French people will generally let it go. No investigations, no impeachment proceedings, no ********.

I have two questions to ask:

    1. Why is it anybody else's business?

    2. Why are Americans (and Brits, to a lesser extent) such busybodies when it comes to public figures' personal lives?

    Leave us out of it.
According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.

    Yeah Right.

    THE SUN.
The Sun (Latin: Sol) is the star at the center of the Solar System. The Earth and other matter (including other planets, asteroids, meteoroids, comets and dust) orbit the Sun, which by itself accounts for about 99.8% of the solar system's mass. Energy from the Sun, in the form of sunlight, supports almost all life on Earth via photosynthesis, and drives the Earth's climate and weather.
The Sun is composed of hydrogen (about 74% of its mass, or 92% of its volume), helium (about 25% of mass, 7% of volume), and trace quantities of other elements. The Sun has a spectral class of G2V. G2 implies that it has a surface temperature of approximately 5,780 K, giving it a white color which, because of atmospheric scattering, appears yellow as seen from the surface of the Earth. This is a subtractive effect, as the preferential scattering of blue photons (causing the sky color) removes enough blue light to leave a residual reddishness that is perceived as yellow. (When low enough in the sky, the Sun appears orange or red, due to this scattering.)
Its spectrum contains lines of ionized and neutral metals as well as very weak hydrogen lines. The V (Roman five) suffix indicates that the Sun, like most stars, is a main sequence star. This means that it generates its energy by nuclear fusion of hydrogen nuclei into helium and is in a state of hydrostatic equilibrium, neither contracting nor expanding over time. There are more than 100 million G2 class stars in our galaxy. Because of logarithmic size distribution, the Sun is actually brighter than 85% of the stars in the galaxy, most of which are red dwarfs.[1]
The Sun orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy at a distance of approximately 26,000 light-years from the galactic center, completing one revolution in about 225–250 million years. The orbital speed is 217 km/s, equivalent to one light-year every 1,400 years, and one AU every 8 days.[2]
It is currently traveling through the Local Interstellar Cloud in the low-density Local Bubble zone of diffuse high-temperature gas, in the inner rim of the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, between the larger Perseus and Sagittarius arms of the galaxy. Of the 50 nearest stellar systems within 17 light years from the Earth, the sun ranks 4th in absolute magnitude as a fourth magnitude star (M=4.83).

The answer is because the Christian right here thinks our leaders should be Christ incarnate or something like the fictitious/mythic version of George Washington. Namley that they above the flaws of the common man. It's a bunch of hooie!

When did it become politically incorrect to expect your politicians to be better men than you are? Or have the type of character that you can be proud to have represent you to the world?

Of course no one is perfect, but there is nothing wrong with a nation wanting their leaders to be role models, instead of the "don't let this happen to you" type we have been dealing with recently.

I don't know, everybody seems to hate Alan Keyes (on the conservative side) and I really can't see why.

The present American Christian-right would've had 101 problems with the secular nature of Washington.

Full marks to Sarkozy. I don't care if he has sex with a bicycle to kill time as long as he's running the country well.

Hahaha, i personally don't give a flying **** about the personal life of the politicians, it's just uninteresting and boring. Except when they have been part of an important event back in the day.

But i so don't give a **** about his ex wife, hahaha.

I don't think a man's personal life has any baring on whether they are a good leader/politician or not.

That is why I think it is ridiculous when people bring up Rudy Giuliani's marriages as well.
