Default Americas - Do not attack the French/English

I have finally started now the "Amercias" Campaing with Spain.... I have tried to keep the peace and build up most of my cities i.e economy before going to war with the Mayans. Even though very hard to fight of the agressive Mayans and gaining their territory, I also had to place on my western boundries some forces to insure not being back stabbed by the Aztecs. Furthermore I also started to gain Rebell provinves, even as far up north as Florida. Now, the French/English arrived.... Thinking that the whole problem (later in-game rivalry) could be solved in on single swoop of glory..... I joined up my forces with some mercs and attacked..... After two very long battles, with casulties ranging on my side from 65% up to 85% I still managed to win both......
I thought that was the end of the story... but even though having managed to kill both generals, they forces prevail and still run around..... They get more and more re-inforcements... I am getting weaker and weaker.... I will prbabyl have to start a new game as now the Aztecs, Mayans, French and the English are attacking me and thinning out my forces. My Allies even though having agreed to help me fight my enemys for "only" half of my treasury are doing nothing.......

Should I have waited for the French/English to settle first and than destroyed them??? How do I get my allies to help me????

pay off the apacheans to go to war with the french and just deal with the english, even turn them on each other.

or leave em be and accept it as 'the beginning of the new era of the americas' and let em have their slice of indigenous massacre and looting pie, like your grand spaniards have just had quite a belly full of for the last few years.

um, i suppose just use alot of mercs when attacking them, and swamp them. Save your Spaniards for another day, just take a cannon and a loyal general to buy the mercs and lead them to the spots. Maybe take some conquistedors and musketeers for a generals entourage.

Do not make piece with anybody. Just pillage, slaughter and buy new armys. Use indians to keep the cities under control and fight only with spaniards. Indians are crap! No guts no glory. I just finished my spanish VH/VH campaign through constant murder and oblivion of all enemies. I menaged to destroy french completly and hold the English at bay.

You destroyed the french??? i whipped the French/English out so many times and they just keep spawning. I even hunted down all their ships, but now they just seem to spawn randomly! I believe that you haven't destroyed them completly, but they are rather hidding in the woods some where.... This also happened to me... and than suddenly they appear out of nowhere.

Did you actually get one of your Allies ever to fight with you???

I have but its usually when they happen to have an army next to the enemy u are attacking or if u are sieging a settlement with an allies army next to u. I don't recall ever seeing the AI ever proactively try to send armies to help u.

Well I guess I killed all French cause I got the message Faction destroyed and I can't find them anymore anywhere.

I had no allies fighting with me cause I do not need that.

it's like 8 stacks or so for each faction I think. But they are spread out...

Did a quick count in the campaign script. England gets 10 armies and the French get 12 armies spawned. About half of their armies are half stacks, some three quarters and some full stacks.
You cannot prevent the spawning from happening btw, not even by sinking their fleets.

Thanks.... I have noticed that !! lol
But good to know that I am near the end and they do not spawn infinite, as I have invested so much money in fighting them of from the beginning...... That means I only have a few spawns left....

You know, depending on your territory I'd say leave a couple of high quality stacks and attack them as soon as they land. This was they don't have a chance to hoard up. England always lands in Central America presumably simulating the sack of Panama City and France always lands in south Florida. You know where they'll be, you should be waiting for them. Honestly the toughest part of the America's campaign is the low public order in your cities. Move you capital to somewhere on the mainland as soon as you have secured a base.

In my campaign, the Apache are about to destroy the French, the Tlaxcalan destroyed the Aztec with some help from me, and I destroyed the Mayan with significant help from the English.

If you are going to use native units I would only use the Apache units since they have low upkeep. Even then I only use them to supplement my free upkeep units in my landlocked cities. If those cities come under attack I send in my Spanish units from a nearby army to break the siege.

    Hey, Gothic Revenge

When France attacked, I left them alone.

On Americas, theres are quite alot of factions, theres many you can ally with on the north west of the campaign map.

I also think its best for you to wipe out the Mayens as quickly as possible, becuas if you think theyre troubling you now, you wait until they send their main force Also thatd be useful for a deep eastern foothold from which you can attack north up to where the French started, and west to the Aztecs.

I just allied with the Apaches, and got them to do the dirty work for me. When they both (them + France) wore themselves out on each other, I came in and picked up the pieces.

Ok so I played as the Apache and not Spain, but it still applies. After you take all the French settlements (and I assume that the same applies to the English) and after you kill all thier leaders, you get a notification saying that the French have been 'destroyed.'

However later in the game they re-appear (but you do get a video notification about them re-appearing), even if you get the Faction Destroyed message. They appear mostly in the present day Flordia and as far west as the Apache Camp, all of them along the northern boundry. Most of the stacks are at only half strength, however one group was two full stacks with a General. (However in my game I was lucky enough to have the stack with the General rebel and it stopped trying to take my settlements).

All of this was with my game, and I held all of the northern territories. Something that I noticed was that the stack would appear a turn before you got the video notification about them returning. But when it did there was always a golden star on the mini-map indicating that they were there (because they did not control a settlement).

Well the same may not apply to every game. But I've had to keep a fairly large force in the north to combat the repeat invasions.
