Blut und Boden
And you`re playing with what exe?
RTR platinum
Blut und Boden
but are you using the bi.exe? it works a lot better than the original exe, especially for naval invasions - if you start off as rome, for example, you'll be invaded -by sea- almost imediately by both carthage and illyria ...
Which is very wierd as far as Carthage is concerned (nothing wrong with the Illyrian raids though). Technically, Rome and Carthage were allies, due to the Epirote menace. Things only got nasty after the Romans took the south and Messina. Is there any way to influence this carthaginian tendency to send all their troops to Capua? I'd rather have them expanding in Africa and Spain more.
I think maybe something is scripted for the Carthaginians to do that in the first few turns of the game (since they ALWAYS do it in my campaigns), so you should be able to un-script it - how to do that I have no clue though ...
I'm not an expert here, but IMO it's not a script. Certain factions which does naval invasions (using BI.exe) are mentioned in a "descr_sm_factions" file and at the line "prefers_naval_invasions" have "yes". So as I think those factions tends to do sea invasions and attack nearest enemy.
As much as it worth, I want to point out that vanilla RTRPE doesn`t use scripts. Those things, as said above, are influenced by the game`s engine(RTW or BI) and the setting with prefered naval invasions. It appears that in BI it does count if you set it to yes.
Ok thanks everyone. I was running it off RTW 1.5. Its just very lame when there are 0 sea invasions.
Blut und Boden
I have seen sea invasions while using RTR with RTW 1.5. Not as often though.
