Kingdoms Installation, Disk 2 Wont install

Hey everyone,

To make a long story short, the Disk 2 of Kingdoms will not read when I put it in when the Setup asks for it. I installed M2TW fresh today and that went flawlessly, then I went to install Kingdoms and disk 1 was fine, then I tried about 5 times to get Disk 2 to work, but it just wont read the disk. When I put it in and press OK, everything freezes then says its not responding.

To solve this problem, I put Disk 2 in, opened it up, and copied all the files and folders from that first screen when you first open it, and pasted them into a new folder. Now when I click install and it asks for Disk 2 I can just click browse, go to the folder, and then install it from there right? Will I miss out on anything from doing it that way?

2 discs?? I only got one :o Are you supposed to get 2?

Are they normal cds or DVDs? Mine's DVD

I suppose some people get 2 CD's, others (like me) 1 DVD.

To answer the question about the copy: I think it's your best shot. Try to copy the contents of the 2nd CD to a folder on your hard disk, and then browse to that folder when it asks for the 2nd CD.

What you should do anyway, is contact the reseller and report your problem to them and make it theirs. They should give you a replacement.

Thanks for the help guys, I did try the folder thing and it said the installation was successful, but I might return it and get another one just for the hell of it (cuz I'm a weirdo and like to have things done perfectly =P ). Hmmm 1 disk? Thats weird especially since my disks are DVD-ROMS. My regular Medieval 2 has 2 disks too and those are DVDs.

I have 2 DVD's aswell.

You are not a weirdo btw for wanting a working CD. You should've got one in the first place.

I guess it depends on which country one lives in wether you get 1 or 2 DVD...

Maybe 1 DVD is English only, and 2 DVD's means you can also install it in other languages. I didn't bother to check, since I always install everything in English, wether Dutch is available or not.
