hmmm... i was gonna use these as replacements for the gaul & briton swordsmen, chosenswordsmen and foot nobles, but it just wont work...
i copied the new entries from the descr_model_battle.txt file and then changed the entires in the export_descr_unit.txt file to point to the new soldiers for the swordsmen, chosenswordsmen and nobles... of course i also copied and pasted all the model and texture files to the right places...

    it didnt work...
the ones based on the triarii model were all using javelins (even tho they only had swords and i deleted the javelin skeleton on their entry) and the swordsmen used the default vanilla textures

Anyway to add sprites to the units? Because my current computer sucks, and when I zoom out far enough, it shows the units as sprites. Yet these units don't come with any, which slows down my battles considerably.

EvilNed, sorry i don`t make sprites.

Oddball, maybe you should consider trying it again, after a good nights sleep, with your polished glasses on your nose ;O)
Or maybe use my complete skinpack with the mod and use my included txt files, it will save you some time, problems....and you don`t need your glasses ;O)

well, what i want to do is use your fine new models and textures for the chosen swordsmen and swordsmen in the RTR mod... however, when i try this they still have their javelins (i dont want that... i just want swords)...
    got any sullotion?

I do fear, i don`t understand your idea, because the choosen swordman has no javelin and some of my new celts are made from hastatii and therefore the sword is the secondary weapon and the javelins primary weapon.

the forums suffered from hacking and underwent upgrades . Attachements were unfortunately lost in the process, or so it seems .

    Default Warcry

I have installed these new units into SPQR but though the descriptions say warcry, the ability is not enabled. Do anyone know how I can enable the warcry or is the description Celtic propaganda

By the way, these units look wonderful. Well done Webbird.

    thank you

    Andrew

You just can't, because they are a work of mine and not released, anywhere.

I am a big fan of yours Webbird, i LOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE your roman skins

Now i dont like playing as the gauls, germans, or britons, but i do like fighting them, so i thought your skins would make fighting them much more fun, but you see, but i have some heavily modified files for RTW, and i cant replace them with the ones your file provides, and its just too time consumeing to go through the text files that came with your mod, and find out what needs to go, so i was wondering.... could you perhaps post the files of which needs to be placed in what text file, all i really need are the lines that i need to add to get the units to work and where these lines go, anything you could do?

Sometimes it`s realy cool to look through the first topics for an idea and see how the whole project developed.

Have you considered making a more historical chariot rider, one with the chariot javelinman for instance? These guys were apparently nobles/leaders and well protected (like the "heavy" charioteers) but using javelins. I've converted the "light chariots" to this using the new 1.3 chariot javelinman skeleton and the stock barb peltast. (I did have to give them two javmen each so they had some punch--I would like to reduce the firing time instead, but I don't think that is possible.) What would be better of course is a skin and model update with the heavier nobleman type with javelin, and sword. I would replace the heavy chariot unit with them. Too bad we can't have them dismount and fight as elites.

The skins you have look great.
