Any chance on a patch to fix these so they aren't massive? I asked this in 0.81 and was told it would be worked on.

Yes, I would be glad if someone shortened their spears as well. I think they should all have the same length as the Epilektoi Hoplitai.
The major problem is their running, the size during battle is passable, anyway, they do look impressive!
Its an animation problem and we don't have the animators to solve it.

So why do Epilektoi Hoplitai not have the same problem, though they use the same animation as other hoplites?
Foot, he's talking about the length of the spear, not the animation.
The problem I believe is a model problem. What appears to have happened, is that the vanilla hoplites were remodelled, and taken out of phalanx formation. However someone appears to have forgotten to change the size of their spears.
Epilektoi Hoplitai must have been a new model, hence them not having a problem. This problem is only cosmetic (I think) but really stops me playing Greek Cities as it does look a bit redicuolous when they are fighting.

Same issue perhaps?
yes, the spears are too long and make the units look awkard in battle.
OFF TOPIC:
And just like I post a previous thread, give back the model unit a sword to hoplites and spearmen, so players may choose whether to activate the secondary weapon or not. Coz they are fighting with fist now.

No they can't di that because its buggy, I've seen it tried before. You can only give secondary weapon to units that have phalanx formations. But yes this is a model issue and can be fixed, the German spears are about right length for their shieldwall.
Yes, giving spearmen a sword as their secondary version DOES give you the abillity to switch them in battle, though if one soldier gets knocked down he automatically switches to sword.
Presume they drop the spear or the spear was damaged when they are being knocked down, so they switch to their sword.![]()
The only problem I can see with spearmen having swords is when you order them to charge they immediately switch to swords, but somehow you can command them to switch back to spear again.
Eh? Why should someone presume that? It sounds logical to some point but I'm sure that when you are knocked down, your weapon doesn't fly in the air or gets knocked away evey time as wellIt's irritating if they switch to swords if you are fighting cavalry for example upon being knocked down
Besides if you are fighting a big battle you can't possibly keep an eye on every unit changing weapons
