Default Constable of Jerusalem/Antioch + Marshall of Templars/Hospitallers

Hello everyone, this is my first ever post, and I have been an avid Total War for a while, and I purchased Kingdoms yesterday and decided to start off with the Crusades campaign as Jerusalem. I played a battle, and my Templar Marshall and Constable of Jerusalem suffered heavy casualties. How can I retrain them? And if they die how do i get them back?

    Thank You.

They are the unique units right? I think the only way to get more of them is to let your cities that can recruit them run on auto-manage. Apparently the AI is not limited to the one-time recruitment limit. I haven't seen this myself but I read this somewhere on these forums.

To retrain the Constable, Canons, and both Marshalls, you simply need to move them into a settlement (not sure if it needs to be a castle). You will be able to retrain them at any point in the game.

To recruit them, you will need the highest tier of barracks and stables. Also, the AI can recruit more than one, so if you set it to auto-manage once you have them available, it might recruit a few extras. You can also bypass the limit manually by recruiting a unique unit in several settlement all in one turn.

Hmm in my they suffered heavy casualties too, but I found they automaticly retrained themselves as long as their in a settlement

Man I hate Canons they are the single most hardest unit to kill and the enemy literally spams them at you. Even though I outnumbered them 3 to one and my general was uber i got owned.

I had a quick look at the export_desc_buildings file last night and there were multiple entries for canons in some of the infantry recruiting buildings...

1 had a counter attached to make sure you have only 1, the other did not...?

Maybe deleting the second entry will fix the problem with the AI spamming unique units...

    Just a thought...

Looked at it and the recruitment pools have a maximum of 0.999 units with a replenish rate of 0.1. So they shouldn't be recruitable when looking at this file. Unless the game rounds up 0.999 to 1 in which case you should be able to build a unit of canon sepulchers every 10 turns.

Or the AI ignores recruitment pools altogether, which would be very unfair.

It's just all very buggy, you shouldn't even be able to recruit several of them in the same turn (from different settlements).

this is rediculous, i have constables and marshal templars suffered 80% on both and have them park on jerusalem, im now on my 16th turns and man i tell you their just sleeping in there quarters now and apparrently they are either too afraid to come out now or just plain too lazy.. THERE IS NO WAY AND NEVER DONE ANY OF THOSE RETRAIN OR RECRUIT!!!
where?how? if ever you advice please be sure youve done it because as of now it never happens to me and another the damn egyptians is spawning too!!! i think, why? well i have already taken out 6 stacks of there armies... let me repeat 6 stacks!! and even taken 1 settlement how the hell can the have another 6 or 8 stacks full armies????? how can they pay all of those when i count only 5 settlements they have now??? of please if i can retrain or recruit those marshals of mine i could even the odds now dont you think???

    LOL.....For the 110th time!!!

    Antioch unique units
Canons of the Holy Sepulchre need an Armoury to recruit or a Garrison quarters to retrain.
Marshall of the Hospitallers you need a Kings stable to recruit or a Barons stable to retrain.

    Any castle will do

    Jerusalem unique units
    Marshall of the Templars
    Constable of Jerusalem

You can retrain them in a castle with a Barons stable. To recruit you are plain out of luck. You need a Kings stable to recruit but this is not a buildable option for Jerusalem (oops another bug). Your only chance is to capture a Citadel with a Kings stable already built. For this you will need spies and patience.

@pwijnands LOL don't delete any entries in export_desc_buildings. You need multiple entries. One for retraining and another for recruitment. Those with the event counter eg and event_counter no_hospitaller_marshall 1 are for recruiting. Only problem is they are also .999 (ouch! bugs bitting again) so it might take a few turns (up to 10) for the replenishment pools to fill up enough to recruit.

    I am wondering one thing

I have searched after the export_desc_buildings many times now, but it seems like I can not find it
Could you please tell me where I can find it?

You have to unpack it. Use the unpacker in the tools folder. Read the read me first.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.
