    Default Bulgarian faction!

    Excerpt from wiki:

The reign of Isaac II , and, still more, that of his brother Alexios III, saw the collapse of what remained of the centralized machinery of Byzantine government and defense. Although, the Normans were driven out of Greece, in 1186 the Bulgars began a rebellion that was to lead to the formation of the Second Bulgarian Empire.

    DATE OF REBELLION: 1186.

Made me think of one thing, can you guys actually make a faction as "emerging"? If yes, can the player play said faction?

Yes, I believe you can make a faction emergent. But no, you wouldn't be able to play them unless you took control of them in a hotseat campaign. But that would mean you wouldn't be able to fight defensive battles.

Hotseat allows a player (and a friend) play more than one faction in a campaign. So you could start out as England and your buddy as Scotland and take turns playing a campaign (on the same computer, though). Or you could start out as England and get bored and switch to France halfway through a campaign...

It also allows us modders to allow the AI to control all factions and let a campaign auto-run its course...

Maybe these guys can, in the future, make the campaign less loneley for the Balkans area. I do not think the Serbs were such an important factor - historically speaking - at least for the current neighbors. If I'm not mistaken, the first bulgarian Empire nearly destroyed the Roman Empire..and the second Bulgarian Empire, in terms of the effects of its rebellion, along with the Serb's rebellion were important factors in the almost immediate decline in the Eartern Roman Empire.

    I think they're important.

I think a faction in the Balkans would be good, but any more than that would get quite crowded, compared with faction density elsewhere on the map anyway..

I would say Serbia is a better choice, but Bulgaria would also be quite good. They're quite similar in their starting positions, religion, size etc and effect on gameplay in general.

True, but I cant seem to find info of a political entity of Serbs around the time of the mod..I see Zeta and Rashka below Bosnia, and a Croatian state that is subject to Hungary but other than that there is no actual Serb dominion.

Depends on who would be the one that impacted history the most..
