Can anyone help? Consistant and immediate crashing after starting

:hmmm:Can anyone help? Everytime I start a Grand Campaign the game loads, happy days, however, after a few minutes of everything being fine the screen goes black and the computer freezes; usually this is proceeded by a sort of beeping sounding from the game.

I have reformatted by computer (and reinstalled everything frm scratch), upgraded my graphics card to a Sapphire X1650 Pro, patched the game to 1.02, updated the graphics drivers and Direct X drivers but to no avail! This is becoming bl**dy annoying as I really want to get stuck into this game.
