I can not get the goddamn 1.2 patch installed/unpacked/what-have-you. No matter where I download from (including the kingdoms disc), whenever I try to install it gets to the screen with the progress bar before coming up with "Can not launch patch process!", and when I run the unpacker, even though it seems to work perfectly (takes about 10 mins, and I can see the files being updated, and I'm doing it from program files/ medieval 2 total war/ tools/ unpacker), the game still stays at version 1-point-******ing-0. Any new suggestions are desperately needed.

P.S: I have done a complete uninstall (including all saves and backups.) and tried to install the patch before doing anything with the new install. A cookie to whoever can guess how that worked out.
