For me, it has to be Gaul and Greece. When I play as the Romans, I instantly jump to Greece and cripple them. Then I take my time with them. The same goes with Gaul.

In terms of online play...
I'll usually lay the law down to Greeks, Gauls, Spaniards, and Germanic players. But anyone who uses those factions receive lots of admiration from me.
On the other hand, I get bullied around by Egyptian and Roman players (mainly).

If I play with any faction close to Rome, they are the main instigators. Another faction who is always picking on me regardless of my faction is Pontus. I always try to lay low and re group by the time I spot Pontus. If I stay idle for a couple of turns they will start pushing me around.
I bully the Romans in the campaign because the AI can't.
I like to bully the Egyptians around the most. My favorite faction to fight against is the Selucids (the one or two times that they've actually done well). Some campaigns I'll go as the Romans or something and take out the Egyptians early and then vacate those cities so the Selucids survive and prosper.

Gaul. I always try to make them a client country, but that's more over-protectiveness on my partI always defend Gaul and try to help them reach late game.
Asking for rep is a sure fire way to not receive any, at least from this old cynic.
If I play Gaul, there is no late game. All the Roman factions get terminated before the Marius Reforms. Then it is a coast to victory. The Gauls have a decided early game advantage.Originally Posted by Vault Dweller
Is Gaul lame in Multiplayer? Seems a pity if they are, because they are my second favorite campaign faction to play (behind the Scipii and possibly the other Roman factions).
But, though I hate to admit it, Gaul is the faction I love to beat on when playing as Romans. Next in line is Greece; because the rewards of taking their provinces are so high, and I love riding circles around their phalanxes and making them dizzy.

I would have to say the Macs or the Gauls, cause I usaully play as the Romans or the GCS
"So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show."

yes nick gauls suxk multiplayer
"Hoti to kratisto" - Alexander of Macedon
Dacia and thrace, both pretty poor factions.
They are fun to play though - The greater the challenge, the greater the fun!
in the vanilla version, since roman julii faction is the default and original playable faction, and since most players choose to expand north out of italy, the gauls would have to be a very common faction that gets bullied. it is my first step in nearly every roman game i play.
as any other faction, usually i am the one being bullied.
in this case, the only true faction which i push around aggresively would have to be the rebels...
The Britons. At my first campaign(as the House of Julii) they were hostile towards me from the get-go(I didn't even share any borders with them and lo and behold: they're suddenly sneaking multiple full stacks to my homelands) and then I proceeded to hunt down&kill every last of their family members But my hatred towards them did not end there. Now, no matter what faction I'm playing as, I see as my duty to destroy/severely hurt the Britons(or the Romano-British in BI).
