Default Mylae's building addon for 7.03

    hello fans of TWC!!

I realized that for the next version there is time to wait - many things needs work, work and more work, even if we have an internal 7.1 version under development - we are working to make your game less buggy as possible.

So i think is good for you to release this small pack who will basically UPGRADE your 7.03 version with new buildings, 2 new religion and so; the details are visible in the 7.04 preview posted some time ago here.

So this pack will contain the nice buildings present in 7.04 and 7.05 version - but, since those version have been declared instable and we recomment to go back on 7.03 version, this pack fits your will of several new UI and new buildings for romans mainly and sassanids too; and, above all, it SHOULD be savegame compatible!!!

HOW TO INSTALL: download the .rar above here. once downloaded, unrar it and you will find a folder called "IBFD addon 5". IF you use JSGME, put this folder in your MODS subfolder; then open JSGME, deselect eventual active mods, and activate this one. IF you do not use JSGME, simply open the folder "IBFD addon 5": inside there is a folder called "IBFD"; copy (or cut) it and paste it in your RTW root directory where you have installed Invasio Barbarorum. when ask to overwrite the existing files, click yes. Eventually, a backup copy of your working IBFD mod will solve all your possible problems, but i think you know how to copy and paste a folder.

    http://files.filefront.com/IBFD+addo.../fileinfo.html

is just a 6 MB pack - there are no big changes, but some fix.

    improvements:

    - added religion: manichaeism
    - added new trait: Jew (was lacking in the previous version) and Manichaeist
    - added SEVERAL new buildings
    - added new UI to replace the old "churches"
    - modified the script (basically subdivided it into section)
    - added a couple of names
    - reshaped the sassanid family tree: now the wife of Yazdegerd is the real one, Shushandokht, a jew princess;
    - renames historically some settlement for sassanids
    - FIXED a stupid bug in which roman highways in gaul and spain looked like eastern royal roads;
    - some other things i now forgot.

p.s.: do this release meet your favour?? if so, comment it and if you like it add my rep

I'm sure it will meet my favour even before actually downloading it

Your mod can well be called the "Europa Barbarorum" of the migrations period: thank you all (even if i would like to ask to someone living in Lugdunensis or Britannia what did he think about "migrations"
barbarian invasions I think he would have called them)!

By the way there are still so much things to add in 7.1? Good new, it looked nearly finished. I hope there will be at least one more city in Britannia located in Cornwall (Aquae Sulis for example) and perhaps Lucius Artorius Castrus.

    Cheers

we're never satisfied with what we do
I hope there will be at least one more city in Britannia located in Cornwall (Aquae Sulis for example)
have been thinking of that also but we wouldn't want Britannia to be filled with cities and become an economic superpower ahead of its time. for the scale of IBFD, current number of regions is enough, I think.
    and perhaps Lucius Artorius Castrus.
unfortunately Lucius Artorius Castus would have been long dead by the time.

How many cities has in this moment IB??
7.1 has 171 regions, 6 of them inaccessible

I’d say that’s a perspective thing. Growing up as an Italian in America I’ve been made acutely aware of the different opinions of the Germanic invasion. You are pretty much on the money Latin’s peoples consider it the barbarian invasion and Germanic peoples say its migration, which I’d be more inclined to accept if the invaders didn’t brutally pillage numerous cities or start the dark ages. Migration is to barbarians what final solution was to Hitler a euphemism that softens the extent of the crime.

Not saying that I hold a grudge against them or something it’s just an interesting topic personally I think considering the acceptance of roman atrocities it would be fair to admit that barbarians invaded after all Romans don’t say Caesar migrated, he conquered.

Can’t wait for the next version by the way I hope you have success at fixing those annoying crashes.

Or let us talk about the "displacement" of the native indians in the USA. Maybe the first settlers were also something like "invading barbarians".:hmmm:

Yes Mylae. Thank you for the download.

    And to Pompeius Magnus:
Bravo. I 100% agree with you.

please people let's consider out the discussion on migration of nations/invasion. nationalism is not welcomed, expecially because nation-states are a "recent" invention...

guys, let's cut Giuliano Taverna some slack, OK. and let's let the discussion of migration/invasion slide. If you really want to discuss this, open a new topic and debate it properly. besides, I think the statement was an over-simplification on GT's part, and an over-reaction from the rest of you.

    Hi Mylae,

Can you please modify this add-on for 7.05? I'm using 7.05

BTW, Will IBFD 7.1 be able to patch over 7.05 anyone?

    Thanks, hellas1

these things should be in from 7.04 onwards, so they are in 7.05. Mylae added the files specifically for 7.03 as they weren't available there.

it is suggested to be installed from scratch (it isn't save-game compatible) but if u install over 7.05 will give instructions on w/c files to delete, or make a .bat file to do it for you

    Thanks, hellas1
    ur welcome, as always

Thanks and I am sorry if I came off as nationalistic I was just trying to come up with an example of a euphemism and the final solution was the first thing that popped into mind. I didn’t mean that Hitler had anything to do with Alaric or the Goths, vandals, burgundy, franks, Lombard’s, or any other Germanic people.

Also for the sake of not taking away from this topic I am willing to post a topic specifically to discus this point, but I would like first to know if there is interest for such a topic.

I for one think that you simply made a careless euphemism (happens to all of us) that was unfortunately very controversial, and I hope everyone agrees on that.
If you do want to open a topic on the migrations/invasions issue you're welcome to do so but I suggest you refrain from using the Hitler analogy,

    ADD-ONs
I might be releasing a few add-ons which I might incorporate to this topic, planned add-ons: IBFD7++ strat units (mostly spies and diplomats), also new event screens. The quotes that came with 7.04 plus seems to be one cause of the CTDS (I really wonder why...) so wouldn't be including that

The quotes? Really? That's utterly bizzare, although it would make sense since it was during the transitions where they would normally show that many CTDs happened. It would also indicate why it would seem to be random, at times. Nice catch!

What is interesting is that I'm playing with V7.03 including the revised quotes and no CTD's!! Go figure. One option may be to make the revised quotes as an option, so people can decide whether they want to have these quotes or not, provided there are no CTD's. The revised quotes certainly do add flavour to this period.
