Odd Install Problem

I'm havening a problem while trying to install RS.
I have the 1.10b installer, with 0 turn recruitment, borders unchecked.
The installer will run fine until it gets to about 60-65%, at that time it will stop an error message saying that it cant rename a file in the directory.
It seems to only fail in the once it get to the Parthia files.
I've downloaded a new copy of the installer with IE to see if that was the problem and it did the same thing.
So just gonna ask for some help on this one.

I've never seen that happen before. Does it play OK?

Well no. All the unit cards seem to be missing if I skip the file. And I'll get a CTD anytime a Parthia unit enter battle.
I'd try to test it a bit more, but I have to go to work soon.

I'll make sure to try again tonight.

Sounds like it might be a corrupt download, but I don't know what could be causing it...

Well I used an old copy of the installer. (Used Firefox)
But last night I used IE to get a new one and still no luck.

This 'error'..did it happen when the 'black box' DOS window opened up?

Sorry for not getting back you guys till now but just got back.
As to your question DVK, it wont even finish extracting the files so no the DOS window never opens up.

[EDIT] Well I just reinstalled RTW (again) and i cant patch it so went to uninstall it and says its uninstalls fine, but yet in my program files folders there is RTW, only half gone and what a shocker I cant delete it. So Im just gonna give up.

Can you tell me WHAT file it is it won't write or over write?

have you tried running it in safe mode?

Well yet another odd twist, i just installed RTW on a different hard drive and all seems well so far, installed RS patched it to 1.10c an no problems what so ever.

@DVK: I think it was the Parthian governor or general.
