Is this a real movie, or is this one of those amateur 300 spoofs? It looks funny though.

Its one of those spoofs they do on movies, like scary movie 1, 2, 3, 4, not another teen movie, epic movie, date movie...etc.

I don't see why the are such big hits. Well technally they aren't, but still people go and see them. I think they are pathetic.

Yeah, I just cringed when first seeing this trailer. There was a time when spoofing a certain movie was merely a setup and the spoof movie itself would feature a whole range of original and funny jokes but today all you need is simply reference key scenes from movies that came out in the last few years and audiences will flock to it.
I miss movies like Airplane, Naked Gun and Hot Shots who would bombard you with so many great jokes that you were bound to laugh all the way through it. Now I get movies who think a pirates of the carribean parody is funny just because they have an actor who plays Cpt. Jack Sparrow exactly like Johnny Depp played him. I mean, what's the point?
Oh and having Britney shave her head, talking to her baby and then kicking her down a well like in 300...yeah that's real genius comedy right there.

What the hell is the point here? Making a whole movie just to spoof another one? I mean, just make a short one and put it on the internet or something, is this actually gonna be in the theaters?

    Yes, it is.

Some are funny, others fail horribly. This one is probably the latter.

It looks like another crappy, not very funny "comedy" like Epic Movie.

Although, the "you got served" thing made me briefly chuckle.

I'm guessing since it's from IGN and it's way to short, it's fake.

    It's a real movie.

Honestly, though, who gives these people the money to make crap like this?

Scary Movie 1 and 2 were fairly funny. Not Another Teen Movie was funny. Spaceballs was funny.

Scary Movie 3 and 4 were beyond stupid. Date Movie was crap. Epic Movie was possibly the worst **** I've ever seen in my entire life. Meet the Spartans looks even dumber than Epic Movie.

Even comedies need a well-written (albeit comedic) script; furthermore, the script should be coherent. Most of these movies are incoherent; scenes don't relate to one another; and the script is simply moronic. It's as if a kid sat down and said "Wouldn't it be funny if a Spartan kicked Britney Spears down that well?" Then, this same kid came up with another "brilliant" idea and said "Wouldn't it be funny if we made the Spartans dance like ghetto boys?" Now, let's put these great ideas together, and call it a "movie."

Instead of funding crap movies like this, how about they use that money and fund someone who actually wants to make a real movie that doesn't involve 5-year old jokes about Britney Spears or Michael Jackson, or about people playing Ping Pong, or something else that doesn't require a grain of intellect? Or if they really want to throw their money away, why not just give that money to the poor?

I agree with your entire post, but I kinda enjoyed Scary Movie 3 (I've never seen 4). They definetly need to start making good movies that are funny, not idiotic clumps of scenes (ala Epic Movie)

When you say ping-pong, do you mean Balls of Fury? Because Balls of Fury was actually alright, IMO (still stupid, but light-years better and funnier than Epic Movie).

The beauty of America is that we can choose not to go to these retarded movies and eventually curb Hollwood towards scripts that weren't written over Chinese. Even if this movie featured funny personalities, which it doesn't they still need a decent script to make it work, you know with jokes that have a punch-line (yes Britney is crazy as ****, it's been done).

The fact that someone actually sat in an office and pitched this idea to someone in a suit astounds me. The fact that the suit was interested and went to the big boss with it - also remarkable. The big guy likes how original the movie is by making fairly obvious observations about other retarded movies the studio put out but insisted on adding the comedic talents of Kevin Sorbo to even it all out, crazy.

To be honest, I think Scary Movie 1 was really good, but the rest weren't as funny. In any case, yeah, I was referring to Balls of Fury.

There's a new stupid parody coming out that involves jokes about "Dodgeball," "Rocky," and some other sport's movies. I forgot the name of it, but it looks quite dumb.

This actually takes the cake I'd say, spoofing a movie that itself was already a comedy that didn't take itself seriously.
Well at least Carmen Electra will always have something to do.
