So it's that time of year again where I live in central US, the days are growing shorter and the days are getting cooler...but I love it.
You wake up with the windows open, and you're a bit cold but luckily there's that blanket right there to pull up and you lay there taking in the cool morning air before finally stumbling out of bed.
You sort through your clothes and find your most comfortable hoodie and jeans and put them on, get a cup of tea going, and read the paper.
You step outside and the wind moves your hair about so you put on a hat to keep in neat and hop on your bike. The wind comes again and you smell the leaves and rain that fell the night before. In the distance you can hear the cars driving through the puddles.
It's quiet out and everything seems to be going into a slumber of sorts and you're the sole active one at this time of day.
You head into class and step out an hour later and it's warmer out, and you take your hat off and maybe pull your sleeves back. The wind is still there andknock the leaves out of the spokes that got stuck over the course of the last hour.
You pause in a field to take it all in again, the smells, the feel, the sounds of Autumn.
Fk me if this is sentimental but it's my favorite time of year. I love how it varies, some days it's cool and you're a bit cold, other days it's warm and you can go about in shorts and a t shirt, but no matter what it's pleasant.
The leaves colors are so beautiful too there's something amazing about just watching the raindrops hit them.
Now back to that paper.
